With positive COVID-19 tests hit more teams seemingly every day, the NFC East has remained largely unaffected. Take a look at their standings and that might come as a surprise.
Through five weeks of play for each, the division has amassed just four combined wins and currently sits with a combined point differential of -154.
Still, if they play the game, numbers will be posted and bet into. Let’s take a closer look at where those numbers stand as kickoff approaches in the Meadowlands.

Overview
Not too many teams in NFL history can start the season off 0-5 and still be able to tell themselves they have a fighters chance at winning their division. Yet that’s where the Giants just might find themselves in what is a putrid NFC East; albeit realistically doubtful.
Outside of their Week 1 loss to Pittsburgh and Week 3 loss to San Francisco, the G-Men have kept the other three within single digits, covering the number in each of them. The last time we saw them on the field turned into a (field goal) shootout in Dallas last week, a back and forth game that Greg Zuerlein’s 34 yard field goal seal the victory for the Cowboys as time expired.
At the quarterback position, flashes of competency have been overshadowed by just two touchdowns and five interceptions on the season. In fact, Daniel Jones’ numbers are down nearly across the board from his rookie season, with his passer rating dropping a full 17 points to this point.
For the Football Team, quarterback play has been nothing to be proud of in itself. After second-year quarterback, Dwayne Haskins was benched heading into last week’s game, a mysterious “illness” (non-Covid related) has kept him from all team practices since.
In Haskins place as the starter, last week against the Rams Kyle Allen stepped in, who threw for 74 yards and rushed for a touchdown before being injured on a rushing play. With the injury, Alex Smith was able to make his first appearance on the field since a leg injury almost cost him his life two seasons ago.
One bright spot for this Redskins team has been the secondary, which ranks seventh in the league in allowing just 226.8 yards per game through the air.

- Washington is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 following a double-digit home defeat
- The Giants are 5-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record
- The Over is 7-0 in Giants last seven games following an ATS win
Prop Bet
First Half Money Line (Inc. Tie) – DRAW (+900)
These two teams are about as even (ly-awful) as you get in this league, and it’s not surprising at all the number is trending toward a pick-em as kickoff approaches. With that in mind, I expect a 3-3 or 7-7 affair heading into the half, and see a sprinkle on the game being tied at that point as a fun bet with a chance of hitting.
Bottom Line
When looking at the offensive statistics for each team to this point in the season, these two teams rank last and dead last in almost every single one. With that, it’s no surprise that this total is the lowest on the board this week and sinking even still.
Averaging a combined 34 points per game through five weeks, both of these teams have been playing much better defensive opponents than they’ll face in this one, and even for them, I think this number has gotten out of hand.
With a total I expect to be closer to 44 by the time it kicks off, I’m taking the over before it does.
