Las Vegas Aces at Phoenix Mercury
This may be the most lopsided matchup you can have in the WNBA this year, with a 10-1 Aces team facing off against the 2-8 Mercury in Phoenix.
Las Vegas has done everything right this season, especially recently after dominating Seattle and Minnesota this week. They may be an 18.5-point favorite tonight, but honestly, with the way they are playing, I can see them covering that spread against anyone.
Still, it is a lot of points. On the road this year, Las Vegas is 2-4 against the spread, and they have had some surprising scares. They are due to come down to earth, but Phoenix is the worst defense in the league, so it is difficult to see who is going to stop A'ja Wilson and company.
Phoenix is capable offensively, and they benefit from home court. To keep up with the Aces, they will need to take a lot of shots and keep up with their third-highest pace of play.
All in all, 18.5 points is a bit too much for me. But I don't trust the Mercury enough to bet them to cover. What I do sense from this matchup is a good amount of scoring to be had.
