 (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Washington Mystics vs. Dallas Wings

  • Paige Bueckers (+600)
  • Kiki Iriafen (+700)
  • Arike Ogunbowale (+800)
  • Cotie McMahon (+1600)

Washington has made the first basket in all three games so far this season, with Iriafen recording one and Shakira Austin the others.

The season is young, but so far, Iriafen leads the team in shot attempts with 13 per game. Although, she is closely followed by Citron (12.7) and Austin (12.3). Iriafen also leads the team in usage percentage (24.7) and effective field goal percentage (60.3%). If you want to roll the dice, consider McMahon. She averages 12+ shots per game, has a high usage rate (20%), and a solid effective field goal percentage (50%).

As for Dallas, only Paige Bueckers (11.7) and Arike Ogunbowale (13.7) average double-digit shot attempts per game. Ogunbowale has a slightly higher usage rate (22.8% to 22%), but Bueckers has the better effective field goal percentage (65.7% to 46.3%).

Connecticut Sun vs. Portland Fire

  • Brittney Griner (+360)
  • Carla Leite (+700)
  • Bridget Carleton (+950)

With four games under its belt, Connecticut has yet to make the first basket. Still,t if the Sun were going to, Morrow and Griner are my top two candidates. Morrow leads the team in field-goal attempts per game (14.3) and has the highest usage rate at 25.8%, but her effective field-goal percentage is just 43%. Griner takes fewer shots (11) and has a lower usage rate (18.9%), but she has a much higher effective field goal percentage (54.5%).

As for Portland, the Fire have made the first basket twice. Bridget Carlerton made one of them; she has been averaging 12.3 field goal attempts a game. Sug Sutton takes the most shots (13), followed close behind by Carla Leite (12.5). Leite has the highest usage rate at 30% but an effective field-goal percentage of 46%.

Carleton's usage rate is just 20.4%, but she has a much higher effective field-goal percentage (59.5%). Sutton has the highest usage rate on the team (35.6%), but her effective field goal percent is dismal (26.9%).
