Tuesday’s Best WNBA Picks & Predictions

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Washington Mystics at Indiana Fever

Life has not been great for the Fever since Caitlin Clark went out with an injury. They've lost back-to-back games outright as favorites against the Mystics and the Sun. Without Clark in the lineup, the fast-paced offense that they're known for has stalled out. They've averaged just two fast break points per game in those two contests despite averaging 12.3 in the previous four.

Washington has been one of the better defensive teams in the league this year. Their defensive rating ranks fifth in the league, and they're second in effective field goal percentage (eFG%) against. They do not allow their opponents to get to the rim, with just 28.6% of their opponents' field-goal attempts coming on layups. For the Fever, this could be an issue as their offense relies on getting to the rim.

The Fever struggled without Clark in the lineup last week against Washington. They didn't shoot well but managed to shoot 27 free-throw attempts, where they connected on 81.5% of them - 10% better than their season average. Despite this, the game still went under. I expect more of the same, even with a market adjustment.

Pick: Under 161.5 Points (-108)

Dallas Wings at Seattle Storm

The night is capped off with the Dallas Wings traveling to Seattle to take on the Storm. Seattle is coming off a defensive battle with the Aces in which they scored just 70 points. They've been about an average team offensively based on their offensive rating ranking, but against a Dallas team that struggles on the defensive end, they should be able to score.

Dallas is coming off a game on Saturday where they allowed 94 points to the Sky. It was only Chicago's second win of the season, both of which came at the hands of the Wings. The Sky scored a total of 191 points in the two matchups while only turning it over 14 times per game, almost three turnovers fewer per game than their season average.

Dallas has shown that it still has a poor defense. Seattle, with the second-best field goal percentage in the league, should have no issue putting up points on this team. Meanwhile, Dallas should get theirs; they shoot the ball fairly well at 43.7% and play a top-four pace in the league.

The differentiator will be the free throws. Seattle does not foul. They allow just .191 free-throw attempts per field-goal attempts (FTA/FGA), while Dallas allows the most free-throw attempts per game (25.7). This game will be high scoring, but Seattle will be able to find a way to pull ahead by not giving Dallas free chances at the stripe.

Picks: Storm -10 (-105) & Over 165.5 Points (-108)
