Minnesota Lynx (-1.5) at Connecticut Sun (+105) | O/U 155 (-105/-115)
Connecticut Marina is Marina Mabrey 2.0, new and improved. In 14 games with the Sun, Mabrey has seen her scoring average jump from 14.0 to 15.3 despite her minutes average dropping from 33.2 to 27.4. The difference is plain and simple, less is needed from her to carry the load in Connecticut as compared to Chicago. Also, more talent around her means she’s open more leading to more efficient scoring. Less is needed from her but more is being received due to increased efficiency,
Mabrey has scored 15 or more points in nine of her last 11 games overall, including four of her last five. She has also reached this number in three of her last four home games, with the lone Under being a 10-point outing in Los Angeles back on September 8. She made up for it two days later, still in LA, with 26 points in 29 minutes as she drained six three-pointers. Marbrey has been hot from long distance lately, knocking down 13 triples in the last four games. If she gets hot early, the long ball could cash this prop in no time giving this extreme value at +100.
WNBA Pick: Marina Mabrey 15+ Points (+100)
Phoenix Mercury (-3) at Los Angeles Sparks (+124) | O/U 161 (-112/-108)
Miss Jackson has cleared this number in four of her last five games with the lone Under being a 16-point outing against the Sun, the team that has allowed the fewest points all season. She had also scored 23 on the same Sun team two nights prior so she can score against anyone.
Since dropping 17 points in Washington, D.C. back on August 23, Jackson has gone for at least 17 in seven of ten games. In four of those games, including her last two, Jackson has scored at least 22 points. She’s letting it fly as the season comes to an end and after scoring 22+ in three of her last four, there’s no reason she shouldn’t fly past this number at home against the Mercury tonight.
It’s hard to believe the same Rickea Jackson we were able to get plus-odds on to score 12 points just over a month ago is now only returning -130 for 17+ points but here we are. It was -105 when I woke up this morning, so jump on this prop quick before it’s juiced to 18.
