Indiana Fever at Las Vegas Aces

If someone told you before the season that the Fever were on the brink of the WNBA Finals, it wouldn't have been a stretch. Caitlin Clark, one of the most electric players in the league, was returning for a second season, and Sophie Cunningham was added to the lineup, improving on an already talented team that made the playoffs last year. However, those two were ruled out for the year before the playoffs started. Yet, the Fever continues to win.

In this series versus the Aces, they've shown their ability to rebound the basketball, and that has been a huge factor in their performances. In four games, they're +27 in the rebounding category and +25 in the last two games. Although the Aces have been shooting the ball well, they aren't getting second chances on their misses, leading to more Indiana possessions.

The Fever have also been getting to the free-throw line, where they are taking advantage of those chances. They've attempted 87 free throws in this series, nearly 22 per game. They've made those at a 75.9% clip, which is slightly below their season-long average of 77%. In a Game 5, we should see a tighter whistle. The Fever's ability to get to the line has been a big reason they've been able to explode offensively since they haven't really shot the ball well against the Aces' defense.

The Aces are a team with championship mettle playing in front of their home crowd with a trip to the WNBA Finals on the line. Because of this, Las Vegas is a large favorite. Every game in this series has seen the winner also cover with some pretty lopsided scores. I think we see something similar here.

The Aces have held the Fever to a 40.4% field-goal rate in the last three games, so it's no surprise they've won and covered in two of them. Las Vegas should be able to continue to make shooting difficult for a shorthanded Indiana squad. With a tighter whistle, this should be a difficult game to come by points early. The championship pedigree will shine through, and the Aces pull away late to earn another trip to the WNBA Finals.

Picks: Under 157.5 Points (-114) & Aces -7.5 (-115)
