Monday’s Best WNBA Player Props & Bets
Last time: 2-0 | Season: 4-1
Sonia Citron Under 15.5 Points (-128 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
As Indiana travels to Washington to take on the Mystics, I expect Washington to struggle offensively. Washington and Indiana go hand-in-hand when it comes to the perimeter. No team allows fewer shot attempts from deep than the Fever, while no team gets a lower percentage of their points from deep than the Mystics.
That one-dimensional setup for Washington means I expect them to struggle in the paint, where Indiana knows they want to go. While Sonia Citron is the Mystics’ leading scorer, she still takes the second-most attempts from deep on the team at nearly four per game. With that aspect capped, I don't expect her to score 16 points against the Fever’s defense, even playing at home.
It's a little juiced line, but basically 14.5 at all other sportsbooks right now, so you're still getting some decent value.
Leila Lacan Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (+170 at bet365)
For a plus-odds value bet, Leila Lacan recording a pair of triples is an easy play. In three games since returning to the lineup, she's averaged five attempts from deep per contest. Now, an interesting fact about the Sun is that no team in the league has a worse home offense than they do. Not great.
But that also means they will likely play free and give in to New York's defensive identity. For them, that means shots from deep, as the Liberty allows opponents to take the second-most looks from beyond the arc in the league, where we know Lacan likes to shoot it from. She played 34 minutes on Friday against Chicago and should bounce back from her slump.
The opportunity is there, and at plus-money, it's an easy bet.
A'ja Wilson Over 9.5 Rebounds (-134 at Caesars Sportsbook)
Finally, tonight out West, the Las Vegas Aces host the Seattle Storm as 15.5-point favorites. There is no worse offense in the WNBA than Seattle. They've started off the season 3-9, and their rebounding ranks second-to-last to go along with it. Not only do I expect them to miss a lot of shots, but I don't expect them to keep the Aces off the offensive boards either.
That's where A'ja Wilson comes into play. She's averaged over nine boards a game already this season, with over 14 in three straight outings. I'm shocked at where this number is set, considering the opponent with the number of difficult looks Vegas will force on Seattle. Wilson will grab some offensive boards as well, so her points + rebounds combo prop isn't a bad option either.
But I'm sticking to straight boards. Based on recent results, you can bet some alts as well.
