WNBA Player Props & Bets: Tuesday (8/19)

WNBA First Basket Props: Dream vs. Liberty (Tuesday)

Tonight, the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty meet for the fourth time in three weeks. How will Courtney Williams fare after her 26-point performance the last time the two teams played? In Washington, can Tina Charles put together another solid rebounding game for the Connecticut Sun, even though the Washington Mystics completely outmatch her team? And how will Allisha Gray shoot from deep when her Atlanta Dream battle the Las Vegas Aces?

Here are the best WNBA player prop bets for Tuesday, August 19.

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Courtney Williams Under 14.5 Points (-120)

After a monstrous 26-point game on Saturday, oddsmakers believe that Williams is going to fall back to earth tonight. She's averaging 14.2 points per game this season, and oddsmakers have set her total at 14.5, with the Under favored. While it's tempting to take the Over in this situation, this is a trap.

Williams has faced the Liberty three times since July 30. In two of those games, she scored 14 or fewer points, including one contest where she scored just six on 1-of-13 shooting. While she scored 26 on Saturday, she also shot 55.6% from the field. Her best against the Liberty was 38.9% before that performance. Williams has scored 14 or fewer points in seven of her last 10 games, and as her team's third-leading scorer going up against a solid defense, I expect her to just miss this number.

Tina Charles 8+ Rebounds (+285)

For my second prop of the day, I'm taking a bit of a risk. Charles' total is set at 5.5, but the price for the Over is -130. That's a hefty price for a player who is averaging just 5.8 rebounds per game. Therefore, I'll take this alternative line, and back Charles to grab at least eight rebounds for just the second time in her last nine games.

Though the Sun were demolished by the Mystics when the two teams last met on June 8, Charles played well. She finished the game with 17 points and nine rebounds, as she was the only bright spot for Connecticut during the 37-point loss. However, the game wasn't a fluke. In the season opener, Charles scored 23 and grabbed 10 boards against Washington. The Mystics are allowing the second-fewest rebounds per game, but this has been a great matchup for Charles. With this prop, Charles can have her worst game of the season against the Mystics and still hit the total.

Allisha Gray Over 2.5 Three-Pointers (+130)

When the Dream played the Aces earlier this season, Gray had one of her best three-point shooting nights. She went 5-of-11 from deep, as she scored 24 points in the 15-point loss. Since that game, Gray has been hit or miss from three. She had a 7-of-9 game from beyond the arc to start August, but she has made two or fewer threes in three of her last four games.

Even though Gray enters this game cold, she's got a good matchup against the team allowing opponents to make the fifth-highest percentage of threes this season. While the Aces are only allowing 7.7 threes per game, Gray has already proven that she can exploit the defense for a solid performance, even when the rest of her team shoots poorly. For +130, this bet is worth the risk.
