WNBA Player Props & Bets: Wednesday (5/13)

There will be four WNBA games played tonight. A'ja Wilson will look to top 20 points for the first time this year, and below, I explain why I have high hopes for her. I also expect a massive game from Caitlin Clark, while I anticipate a return to normalcy for Kamilla Cardoso.

Here are the best WNBA player prop bets for Wednesday, May 13.

WNBA Player Props & Bets: Wednesday (5/13)

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

A'ja Wilson Over 24.5 Points (+100)

Wilson has scored 19 points in each of her first two games this season. However, she's also shot at least 50 percent from the field in each game, and she played 30 minutes in Sunday's win despite the Aces defeating the Sparks by 27.

With playing time a non-issue in what should be another blowout, I can't help but love this matchup for Wilson. The Sun were one of the worst defensive teams in the league last year, allowing 86.0 points per game. They're not off to a better start this year, allowing 97.5 points per contest through two games.

Wilson averaged 23.4 points per game last season, and she scored at least 19 points in all four of her games against the Sun. She also scored 22 in two of those games and 32 in the other. While her total is set at 23.5 tonight, the Over for that number is priced at -128. I'll take one more point for a significantly better price.

Caitlin Clark Over 9.5 Assists (+114)

After a season shortened by injuries, Clark started this campaign with seven assists. While that's far from the 10 she'll need to hit this Over tonight, there are quite a few reasons to like her against the Sparks.

First, Clark averaged 8.8 assists per game last season. She notched at least 10 assists in five games, and she didn't finish with fewer than six assists in a single contest. Therefore, it's clear that she enters this game with a very high ceiling.

And second, while Clark didn't face the Sparks last season, this is a team that just gave up 28 assists to the Aces in their first game of the season. That's the most assists any team has given up this year, and the Aces averaged just 19.6 assists per game last season, the sixth fewest in the league. Clark is looking to get back to the player she was in her rookie year, and there's no better matchup for that than this one.

Kamilla Cardoso Under 15.5 Points (-118)

Cardoso had an excellent first game, scoring 22 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. But that performance also came against the Portland Fire, a team that was playing in its first game in franchise history. There won't be any such clear advantage against a Golden State Valkyries team that hasn't allowed more than 80 points in a game this year.

While Cardoso's first game was impressive, this is a player who averaged just 13.6 points per game last season. She scored 14 points in each of her games against the Valkyries, despite playing at least 29 minutes in each contest.

The Valkyries had the top-scoring defense in the league last year, allowing just 76.3 points per game. They seem well poised to be just as good this season. Because of that, I'm backing Cardoso to struggle for a solid price.
