Indiana Fever (-170) at Atlanta Dream (+138) | O/U 173.5 (-110/-110)
- Leg 1: Fever -3 (-110)
- Leg 2: Over 173.5 Points (-110)
- Leg 3: Caitlin Clark 3+ Made Three-Pointers (-440)
- Leg 4: Aliyah Boston 8+ Rebounds (-205)
The Fever (1-1) and Dream (1-1) battle at State Farm Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET, the home of the Atlanta Hawks, and the game can be viewed or streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
This is the second half of the home-and-home series, as Atlanta surprised Indiana 91-90 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Tuesday night as a 7-point underdog, as the over (171) cashed. That snapped a five-game win streak by Indiana in this series. The Fever went 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in the previous five meetings. Atlanta has since cashed in each of the previous two in the series. The over is 4-1 in the past five meetings.
Atlanta hit 42.6% (29-of-68) from the field, while going 26.7% (8-of-30) from behind the three-point line, winning despite Jordin Canada remaining sidelined due to a right knee injury. The Dream left a lot of points on the floor, too, misfiring seven times on 32 free throws, ending up just 78.1% at the line. The good news is that Atlanta had 37 rebounds to just 32 for Indiana, and the Dream was a +3 in the turnover department.
Indiana was 48.5% (33-of-68) from the field, while going 47.1% (8-of-17) from beyond the arc, but Indiana was a dismal 61.5% (16-of-26) from the charity stripe. The Fever had 14 total turnovers, conceding 20 points off of those miscues, while Atlanta had 11 turnovers, and just 13 points off of those mistakes. The Dream managed seven steals, to just three thefts for the Fever.
Brittney Griner led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds in 31 minutes, while Brionna Jones was good for a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Rhyne Howard ended up with 20 points despite misfiring on 12 of her 17 attempts from the field. She was able to drop in four three-pointers while knocking down a game-winning free throw with 9.1 seconds left in regulation.
Indiana’s DeWanna Bonner struggled, going scoreless with just three boards and one assist in 16 minutes, misfiring on her only field-goal attempts. Lexie Hull played 29 minutes off the bench, posting six points. Aliyah Boston (24 points), Caitlin Clark (27 points) and Kelsey Mitchell (24 points) each scored 24+ points, with Boston adding 10 boards and two blocked shots, while Clark had 11 assists and a pair of steals with five three-pointers.
It’s hard to pick the Fever since they’re coming off a loss to the Dream at home. But, statistically, Indiana outplayed Atlanta. Look for the Fever to avenge that loss, grabbing a road win. We’ll go high on the total, even though 173.5 is a pretty substantial number.
As far as the player props are concerned, we’ll back Clark to hit at least three three-pointers (-440). However, you cannot bet that as a standalone bet, as it will cost you nearly four-and-a-half times your potential return. It’s a good leg to include in your SGP, though. And, we’ll also play Boston to snag at least eight rebounds, too.
Parlay Odds: +441
New York Liberty (-700) at Chicago Sky (+470) | O/U 162.5 (-114/-106)
- Leg 1: Liberty -11.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Under 162.5 Points (-106)
- Leg 3: First Team Basket Scorer: Breanna Stewart (+210)
The defending WNBA champion Liberty (1-0) travels to meet the Sky (0-1) at Wintrust Arena in Chicago at 8:00 p.m. ET.
New York opened the season with a resounding 92-78 beating of the visiting Las Vegas Aces on Saturday, cashing as a 3.5-point favorite as the over (169) hit. Chicago wasn’t as fortunate, as it was beaten on the road against the Indiana Fever by a 93-58 count as an 8-point underdog, as the under (169.5) cashed. The highlight that received the most eyes from that rout was when Angel Reese was fouled hard by Caitlin Clark, as that rivalry roars along.
The Liberty hit 48.6% (35-of-72) from the field, while managing just 19% (4-of-21) from behind the three-point line. New York was sharp from the charity stripe, hitting 85.7% (18-of-21). The defending champs turned it over just six times, too, while posting a +2 rebound rating against the Aces.
The Sky shot just 29.1% (23-of-79) from the floor, while hitting a dismal 22.2% of their shots (6-of-27) from long distance. Chicago was also just 6-of-12 (50%) from the free-throw line, while struggling with 17 turnovers. Reese was good for 12 points with 17 rebounds, but she also turned it over five times. Those in the Team Angel camp like to point out Caitlin Clark’s turnovers, but Reese had one more than her rival.
We’ll back the Liberty and the under. As for player props, there is an interesting selection. Let’s back Breanna Stewart (+210) of the Liberty to knock down the team’s first basket. Including Stewart in this parlay can help you multiply your wager by eight times.
