Nelly Cummings over 11 points
I covered this angle in the Pittsburgh vs. Iowa State SGP article, but this number is simply too low. Cummings had been a high-usage player down the stretch, averaging 10.25 shots per game if you exclude the conference tournament blowout to Duke. He shoots the ball from deep at a 36% rate and shoots 88% from the FT line. If their play-in game is any indication of how this game will be played, you should expect Cummings to go the full 40 minutes - Jeff Capel shortened his bench to a 7-man rotation, and Cummings never left the floor. He'll be seeing a very similar defense to the Mississippi State team that they just played, so I love Cummings to go over this total.
Ed Croswell under 13.5 points
Croswell is going to absolutely have his hands full in this matchup, going up against the reigning national player of the year in Oscar Tshiebwe. Croswell is already undersized as big men go, and Big O is potentially the best rebounder in college basketball, so offensive putback attempts should be limited for Croswell here. Additionally, he will be expending a ton of energy on the defensive end trying to keep Tshiebwe off of the offensive boards. Providence also has an array of other options in Bynum, Carter, and Hopkins, so there won't exactly be a ton of offensive sets designed to get Croswell the ball.
Trayce Jackson-Davis over 22.5 points
TJD has carried the Hoosiers all season long, and there's no reason to think that won't continue on Friday night. Kent State is not an overly big team, playing 6'8" Miryne Thomas at the center position for the most part. This will be a problem against an Indiana offense that runs through Trayce in the post, as they shoot from inside the arc at a top-15 rate, with the 9th-best FG% in the country. The spread indicates that this game might be close throughout, so TJD should have ample opportunity to get shots up throughout the full 40 minutes. He doesn't need post feeds to score either, as he grabs almost 3 offensive boards per game, and he knocks down his free throws at almost a 70% rate.
