2025 College Football Bowl Game Predictions (Week 14)

2025 College Football Bowl Game Predictions (Week 14) - Kaytron Allen

Week 14 is rivalry week, effectively ending the 2025 college football regular season schedule. Six wins is the primary qualifier for an FBS program to qualify for a bowl game, so expect a lot of teams hovering on the bubble with five wins to go all out against their rival.

Now that we’re at the end of the season, it’s become easier to form predictions for some of the upcoming bowl games. I’ve got three more bowl game predictions based on conference tie-ins, records, and regional factors.

2025 College Football Bowl Game Predictions (Week 14)

                    LA Bowl Prediction

The LA Bowl will be played on the first day of bowl season on Saturday, December 13th. Hosted at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the conference tie-ins to this bowl game features the Mountain West and a former PAC-12 school.

I’ve got San Diego State coming out of the Mountain West. The Aztecs are 9-2, limiting opponents to 11.6 points per game in 2025. Arizona State will represent the former PAC-12, with the Sun Devils enduring an up-and-down campaign at 8-3.

The loss of QB Sam Leavitt hasn’t deterred Arizona State from being competitive with QB Jeff Sims, who has gone 3-0 in relief as a starter. The Sun Devils should be favored in the LA Bowl if they wind up facing San Diego State.

Pick: Arizona State vs. San Diego State

                    GameAbove Sports Bowl Prediction

On Friday, December 26th, the GameAbove Sports Bowl will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. It’s a bowl game that has a MAC tie-in with a Big Ten opponent this season.

Western Michigan has been one of the more complete teams in the MAC in 2025. The Broncos are one of four MAC programs with a 7-4 record ahead of Week 14. Their offense is pedestrian, but the defense is stout, ranked second in points allowed per game (18.5) amongst conference opponents.

Penn State’s downfall has led to the Nittany Lions likely punching their bowl game ticket to the GameAbove Sports Bowl. Penn State is 5-6 right now, following a 37-10 blowout win over Nebraska, so they’ll need to replicate that effort on the road against Rutgers in Week 14 to clinch this appearance.

Expect a defensive slugfest if Penn State and Western Michigan take the field in Detroit during the 2025 GameAbove Sports Bowl.

Pick: Penn State vs. Western Michigan

                    TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Prediction

The ACC has a tie-in to the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, drawing a matchup against an SEC opponent this year. Played on Saturday, December 27th, from EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, we’ll likely get the Missouri Tigers against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Both of these teams had College Football Playoff aspirations a few weeks ago. Since that point, injuries and bad losses have derailed that outcome, with Georgia Tech losing by double digits to unranked NC State and Pitt.
Missouri’s defense is going to be the best unit on the field in this matchup, allowing 19.6 points per game, ranked 22nd in the nation. The Tigers got QB Beau Pribula back against Oklahoma in Week 13, but they only managed six points, while holding the Sooners to 17 points.
Georgia Tech’s defense is bad. After an 8-0 start, the Yellow Jackets have collapsed, allowing between 34 and 48 points to NC State, Boston College, and Pitt. Expect another lopsided loss to No. 4 Georgia during rivalry week, before gearing up to face a Missouri offense that has scored less than 20 points in three of its previous four games.
Missouri should be a touchdown favorite in this bowl game, primarily due to Georgia Tech’s porous defense.
                    Pick: Missouri vs. Georgia Tech
