The sports weekend gets started on the soccer pitch, as the FIFA Club World Cup continues its second matchday of the group stage.

Benfica (-) vs. Auckland City (+12000), DRAW (+4000) | O/U 5.5 (-130/+105)
Portugal's Benfica (0-1-0) managed a 2-2 draw in their opening contest against Boca Juniors, and up next they'll take on an Auckland City (0-0-1) squad that got hammered 10-0 by Bayern Munich. This Group C clash gets underway at noon ET from Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, FL.
Oddsmakers aren't expecting much of a bounce-back performance from the New Zealanders in this one, so much so that they aren't even offering Moneyline odds on Benfica in this contest. We should see another rout in Friday's opener, so I'll lay the 5.5 goals with Benfica.
Benfica is coming off a successful run in the Primeira Liga, where they went 25-5-4 and finished in second place. They logged 84 goals in 34 matches, which equates to 2.5 goals per match. Being that they'll take on an Auckland City team that just got lit up for 10 tallies against Bayern, it appears the Portuguese club should be able to score at will.
Bet: Benfica -5.5 (+115)
Flamengo (+255) vs. Chelsea (+120), DRAW (+225) | O/U 2.5 (+135/-170)
Both Flamengo (1-0-0) and Chelsea (1-0-0) got the tournament started on the right foot, each notching 2-0 victories over Esperance Sportive de Tunis and LAFC, respectively. The matchday winners will square off today, and kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.
I'm riding with Brazil's Flamengo +0.5 (-150) in this match. Oddsmakers are expecting a low-scoring contest - as you can see with a 2.5-goal total that's heavily juiced towards the under. My thinking is that the "Big Mengo" can pull off a 1-1 or 0-0 draw. Maybe, they can even win 1-0 and shock Chelsea, who have only played one match in the last three weeks.
Flamengo has been rolling recently, going 7-1-0 across its last eight matches in all competitions. They've out-scored the opposition 17-2 and registered seven clean sheets during the unbeaten run. Domestically in the Brazilian Serie A, they sit atop the table at 7-3-1, while boasting the best offense (24 goals) and best defense (four goals against). I'll back Flamengo considering the fantastic form that they're in.
Bet: Flamengo +0.5 (-150)
LAFC (-105) vs. Esperance Sportive de Tunis (+295), DRAW (+255) | O/U 2.5 (-110/-115)
The Group D losers will go toe-to-toe this evening in a pivotal matchup, with both LAFC (0-0-1) and Esperance Sportive de Tunis (0-0-1) desperately needing points to try and stay afloat for a knockout stage run. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET from GEODIS Park in Nashville, TN.
I'm riding with LAFC to bounce back and secure three points tonight. Los Angeles hasn't shined in this season’s MLS campaign, going just 7-5-4 out of the gate. However, they have found success offensively, averaging 1.9 goals per match during the 16-game season. Their 18.4 expected goals against (xGA) is also the second-best in the Western Conference, so they should be able to hold their Tunisian counterparts at bay offensively.
Esperance Sportive de Tunis has been held scoreless in its last three matches in all competitions, averaging a measly one goal per game across their last eight contests. Factor in that LAFC is stateside, so they'll have a bit of a home-pitch advantage and travel advantage. I like them at -105 odds.

Bayern Munich (-330) vs. Boca Juniors (+850), DRAW (+475) | O/U 2.5 (-165/+130)
The action concludes in the southeast, as Bayern Munich (1-0-0) and Boca Juniors (0-1-0) meet for their second matches. The FIFA Club World Cup nightcap gets underway at 9:00 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.
Boca Juniors' 2-2 draw against Benfica was a wild game that featured three red cards. The Argentinian side was playing with only 10 men from the 45th minute forward, but they still managed to salvage a point. Regardless of how many men they have on the field in this game, I can't see them slowing down Bayern's high-octane offense. I'm going to play the over, and I think there's a realistic chance the German giants clear this number by themselves.
Bayern Munich brought its A-team to the tournament, and they showed up against Auckland City, dropping 10 goals in an absolute demolition. Jamal Musiala, who's fresh off a hamstring injury, netted a hat trick, while Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman each went for a brace.
Even if you exclude the 10-goal outlier against Auckland, Bayern Munich finished their Bundesliga campaign averaging 3.2 goals per match over their final five contests. Meanwhile, Boca Juniors is scoring 1.5 goals per match domestically this season, so if they can chip in a goal as well, we'll take it. Scoring should be plentiful in this one - give me the over.
