A restored Detroit Golf Club hosts the eighth annual edition of the Rocket Classic this week. Rookie sensation Jackson Koivun is back in a field of 147 golfers, following his first win on the PGA Tour in just his third start at the 3M Open on Sunday.
Koivun is a short 20-1 betting favorite, sitting behind only Cameron Young (+1000) and Chris Gotterup (+1800) in Detroit this week. Last year’s winner, Aldrich Potgieter, is a longshot to defend his title at 80-1.
Detroit Golf Club now plays as a par 70 at 7,328 yards. Its bentgrass greens are brand-new, set to run 12. 5 feet via Stimpmeter. Unlike TPC Twin Cities last week, Detroit Golf Club has zero water hazards, with the primary hazard being over 90 bunkers. Expect plenty of red scorecards this week in another birdie-fest.
My 2026 3M Open Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets settled 1-2. However, we cashed Emiliano Grillo’s Top 20 prop at +300, which kept us profitable despite losing Kurt Kitayama and Johnny Keefer in the same betting market. Kitayama logged a T24 finish, sliding one stroke out of a T20 finish, while Keefer missed the cut.

2026 Rocket Classic Picks: Best Bets

Top 20 Finishing Position
Akshay Bhatia nearly won the 2024 Rocket Classic, but a final round 72 kept him from claiming victory, winding up with a T2 finish.
Bhatia has a win in 2026, including a pair of top 20 finishes, with a T5 at the Travelers Championship, plus a missed cut at the Open Championship across his previous three starts.
The southpaw is rested and ready to roll at a soft course like Detroit Golf Club. He’s ranked 11th in total strokes gained, while leading the PGA Tour in SG: Putting, 12th on par 4s, and 10th in birdie average.
Bet on Bhatia’s elite putter to cash a top 20 prop in Detroit this week at +170 odds.
Pick: Akshay Bhatia (+170)
Top 20 Finishing Position
Jackson Suber has fluctuated between strong and soft performances lately. Taking the 26-year-old American for a top 20 finish is certainly high risk, high reward.
Suber shot a 75 in Round 2 at the 3M Open to miss the cut. However, he’s carded three top 10 finishes in his last eight events, including a pair of top 5s.
His lone appearance at the Rocket Classic led to a strong T6 finish last season. Suber ranks 19th in SG: Approach, seventh for greens in regulation hit (70.6%) and fourth in proximity.
Let’s target Suber for our next top 20 finish prop at a lucrative +280 odds ahead of the 2026 Rocket Classic.
Pick: Jackson Suber (+280)
Top 20 Finishing Position
Ben Kohles is riding a three-event top 20 streak into the Rocket Classic. The 36-year-old American is in strong form right now, coming off a solo ninth-place finish at the 3M Open on Sunday.
Kohles will make his fourth appearance at Detroit Golf Club this week. He’s gone MC-T20-T78.
At TPC Twin Cities, Kohles finished second in SG: Approach and T10 for greens in regulation at 80.6 percent. Those numbers bode well for the Rocket Classic, although Kohles’ short game is the area that could turn this wager into a sweat.
Let’s finish my 2026 Rocket Classic betting card with another Top 20 prop at +280 odds on Ben Kohles.
Pick: Ben Kohles (+280)
