Friday's Best College Football Bets

No. 8 Florida State (-6.5) vs. Virginia (+205) | O/U 59.5

Boston College (3-0) transfer Thomas Castellanos has the Florida State offense humming. The passing game has been surgical, and the run game has been dominant; five players have rushed for 100+ yards through three games, led by wide receiver Micahi Danzy with 173 yards (on five carries). On the defensive end, they dominated Alabama in the second half of the opener and have crushed the two soft opponents they've played since.

As for Virginia, the Cavaliers (3-1) are averaging 564.5 yards of offense and 45.5 points per game. However, three of their four opponents were soft. The one competitive team, NC State, beat them 35-31.

The Virginia offense will keep it close in the first half, but the Florida State defense will take over in the second half and give the FSU offense a chance to pull away.

Pick: FSU -6.5 (-115 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

No. 24 TCU (+115) vs. Arizona State (-2.5) | O/U 56

TCU comes into this Big 12 showdown with a perfect 3-0 record and one of the best passing offenses in the country. Quarterback Josh Hoover has completed 68% of his passes for 1,000 yards (9.7 yards per attempt) and 11 touchdowns with two interceptions. By comparison, Arizona State is more methodical in the passing game, averaging 6.3 yards per attempt.

The Sun Devils are more of a run team, averaging 219 yards per game on the ground. They are scoring just under 30 points per game while allowing just over 20.

I'm not sure why the Sun Devils are favored in this game. Yes, they have a solid offense, and their defense is good overall, but it also ranks No. 98 in the country against the pass. TCU struggles to defend the pass as well, but the Arizona State passing attack is not nearly as dangerous as TCU's.

Pick: TCU Moneyline (+115 at Caesars Sportsbook)

Houston (-13.5) vs. Oregon State (+390) | O/U 47.5

Houston's Conner Weigman has completed 64.3% of his passes for 569 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions. Dean Connors is leading a potent ground game with 271 yards and three touchdowns on 50 carries. On the defensive end, they have dominated the competition. However, they have played a relatively easy schedule so far.

As for Oregon State, the Beavers have struggled to get the offense on track and put points on the board. They rank No. 116 in total offense and No. 126 in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Defensively, they rank towards the bottom of the FBS in most significant statistical categories.

Oregon State can't stop anything on defense. Houston will have no trouble dominating the Beavers and covering the spread.

Pick: Houston -13.5 (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
