College Football Power Rankings: Week 14 (2025)

College Football Power Rankings: Week 14 (2025) - Jeremiyah Love

Rivalry week signals the end of the 2025 college football season. Of course, Conference Championship week, the 12-team College Football Playoff, and Bowl season are upcoming, but the regular season wraps up in Week 14.

Following Week 13, there is minimal movement to track in my Week 14 power rankings. I’ll analyze each team’s overall resumé and justify each ranking accordingly, while offering a prediction for each program’s fate in regards to the playoffs.

College Football Power Rankings: Week 14

Team Week 13 Rank Week 14 Rank Diff
                            Ohio State 1 1 0
                            Texas A&M 2 2 0
                            Indiana 3 3 0
                            Georgia 4 4 0
                            Texas Tech 5 5 0
                            Notre Dame 8 6 +2
                            Oklahoma 7 7 0
                            Ole Miss 6 8 -2

                            BYU 10 10 0

                            1. Ohio State

Ryan Day’s quest to beat Michigan is fully locked in this week. The undefeated Buckeyes aim to end a four-year losing slump against their arch-rival, led by Heisman Trophy candidate and freshman QB, Julian Sayin.

Ohio State’s top-ranked scoring defense will be a tough out for any opponent in the playoffs. The defending National Champions have a winning pedigree and are loaded with talent throughout their roster, so expect a dominant performance against the Wolverines in Ann Arbor on Saturday.

Indiana is likely going to be a tough matchup for Ohio State if they advance to the Big Ten Championship. Two more wins and the Buckeyes will draw a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff, unlike last season, giving them a great opportunity to go back-to-back.

                            2. Texas A&M

Texas A&M has had a fantastic season during head coach Mike Elko’s second year with the program. The Aggies’ 48-0 shutout win over FCS opponent Samford is in the rearview mirror, and now, it’s a road game in Austin to face Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns.

Texas A&M will have to earn a win against Texas, which has shown fight whenever they are counted out. If QB Marcel Reed and the Aggies finish the regular season 12-0, it’s a trip to the SEC Championship Game, where they’ll likely play Georgia.

The Aggies have had to rally to win multiple games this season, proving they can overcome adversity. Ranked 10th in scoring offense and limiting opponents to 21.5 points per game (39th), Texas A&M is more than capable of making a run at its first National Championship since 1939.

                            3. Indiana

Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza and head coach Curt Cignetti are two of the most popular figures in college football this season. The Hoosiers are 11-0 and have an easy Week 14 matchup on the road in West Lafayette against Purdue.

Ranked second in scoring offense and scoring defense, Indiana’s clutch performances late during road wins against Iowa and Penn State have elevated them into College Football Playoff contention. A win over the Boilermakers sends Indiana into the Big Ten Championship Game, where they’ll play either Ohio State or Michigan.

Mendoza is a Heisman Trophy candidate right now, and Cignetti’s defense deserves a ton of credit for their performance as well. This is a better roster than last year, so expect the Hoosiers to go on a run in the College Football Playoff.

                            4. Georgia

Georgia really began to turn it on following their only loss of the season to Alabama. The Bulldogs have beaten their past two SEC opponents by a double-digit margin, while handing Ole Miss its only loss back in mid-October.

QB Gunner Stockton is a true dual-threat with plenty of arm talent, which is why Georgia is averaging over 33 points per game in 2025. Defensively, head coach Kirby Smart has assembled a top-10 scoring unit.

Expect Georgia to shut down opposing offenses while scoring at will in the College Football Playoff, assuming the Bulldogs beat Georgia Tech on the road in Week 14. Even with a second loss, Georgia is likely going to be back in the 12-team College Football Playoff for a second straight season.

                            5. Texas Tech

Texas Tech was not on many pundits’ College Football Playoff radar before the 2025 season kicked off. Now, led by LB Jacob Rodriguez, who has played his way into becoming a Heisman Trophy finalist, the Red Raiders are 10-1 and sit atop the Big 12 following a 29-7 win over No. 11 BYU in early November.

Texas Tech ranks third in points per game (42.6) and fourth in scoring defense (12.6 points per game allowed) under head coach Joey McGuire. QB Behren Morton has a 66 percent completion rate with 17 touchdowns and four interceptions, while RB Cameron Dickey has logged 5.6 YPC and 14 total touchdowns.

A road trip to West Virginia awaits in Week 14. Then, we’ll likely see Texas Tech play BYU once again in the Big 12 Championship Game to punch their ticket to the program’s first College Football Playoff appearance.

                            6. Notre Dame

Following an 0-2 start, Notre Dame has won nine consecutive games. The Fighting Irish have been blowing their opponents out by 20 or more points in most of their wins, recording a 70-7 win over Syracuse in Week 13. Plus, both of their losses came against Miami (FL) and Texas A&M, who are both ranked 13th or higher in the latest AP poll.

RB Jeremiyah Love is a stud, while head coach Marcus Freeman’s defense is elite, ranked 13th in the country in points allowed per game. Freshman QB CJ Carr has been solid, logging over 2,500 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.

Not playing in a Power 4 Conference triggers a lot of college football fans. However, Notre Dame has played a mixture of ACC, Big Ten, and SEC opponents.

Closing out against Stanford is far from challenging. Unless the Fighting Irish have an epic letdown on the road, they’ll be back in the College Football Playoff, looking to avenge a National Championship loss to Ohio State.

                            7. Oklahoma

Oklahoma is a team that leans on its defense to grind opponents down, leading to a 9-2 record ahead of a Week 14 home game against LSU. The Sooners, led by QB John Mateer, preserved their College Football Playoff bid by beating Alabama 23-21 on the road in Week 12.

In Week 13, Oklahoma generated less than 300 yards of offense against Missouri, but it was enough to beat the Tigers 17-6. LSU has had a disappointing season, firing head coach Brian Kelly a few weeks ago, so expect the Sooners to get the job done at home in Norman in a de facto play-in game for the College Football Playoff.

Mateer’s thumb surgery has left him a bit less productive as a passer and runner. The Sooners’ 72nd-ranked scoring offense will need to find a way to get into the end zone more against College Football Playoff opposition if they want to make a run at the National Championship.

                            8. Ole Miss

Lane Kiffin’s tenure with Ole Miss has been speculated on for a couple of weeks now. Distractions aside, the Rebels sit No. 6 in the AP polls with a 10-1 record, losing their only game 43-35 on the road against Georgia.

QB Trinidad Chambliss is an excellent passer, while RB Kewan Lacy has been a reliable workhorse out of the backfield. The only question about Ole Miss is how their defense will hold up if they make the College Football Playoff.

The Rebels’ defense ranks 29th in the nation, allowing 20.2 points per game. However, they’ve surrendered 24 or more points to Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Arkansas in 2025.

A Week 14 road trip to Starkville is a must-win for Ole Miss against Mississippi State. Their resumé isn’t strong enough to qualify for the College Football Playoff as a two-loss team, with their biggest win coming on the road in a 34-26 win against Oklahoma in late October.

                            9. Oregon

Oregon sits inside the top-10 for scoring offense and scoring defense, although it’s felt a bit more underwhelming at times this season. The Ducks just recorded a big-time 42-27 win at home over USC, keeping their College Football Playoff aspirations alive.

Now, Oregon has to go on the road to play Washington in Week 14. A win pretty much guarantees that the Ducks get back into the College Football Playoff. Expect Oregon to leverage its dominant rushing attack, which sits at 6.1 YPC and 29 total rushing touchdowns this season.

Head coach Dan Lanning is a great motivator and leader. Even with a lot of new starters, he’ll have Oregon prepared for the College Football Playoff, especially after a lopsided loss in its only playoff game against Ohio State last season.

                            10. BYU

Instead of Alabama, which has two losses, including recently against a mediocre Oklahoma offense at home, I’m keeping BYU in the 10 spot. The Cougars’ only loss came against a loaded Texas Tech team on the road, while they’ve been able to bounce back with double-digit wins over TCU and Cincinnati.

BYU returns home to host UCF in Week 14. The Knights are 2-6 in Big 12 play, so expect BYU’s 14th-ranked scoring defense to roll yet again. It’s definitely a play-in game for the Cougars, who will then have to play the Red Raiders again, beating them at a neutral site in the Big 12 Championship Game, to advance to the College Football Playoff.
