College Football Week 13 PrizePicks Player Predictions
Phil Mafah Under 89.5 Rushing Yards
Mafah has racked up over 1,000 rushing yards this season, but he's struggled of late. Last week's limited performance against The Citadel tells us nothing, but the week before, he ran for just 17 yards on 17 carries against the Pittsburgh Panthers. Before that game, Mafah had never averaged fewer than 4.3 yards per carry.
While Mafah has six 100-yard games to his name this season, he also has five games with fewer than 80. On Saturday, he takes on a run defense that is only allowing 110.9 yards per game this season. What makes the Gamecocks' run defense even more impressive is that they're only allowing 3.1 yards per carry this season. That's eighth-best in the nation. Mafah isn't a sure thing when he steps onto the field, and I think he's in trouble in a very difficult matchup.
Quinn Ewers Over 237.5 Passing Yards
Ewers has thrown for fewer than 200 yards in back-to-back games. While that may alarm some bettors, the timing of these average performances couldn't have been any better. Because Ewers didn't overperform, his number is set much lower than it should be for this game against the 88th-ranked pass defense in the country.
The Aggies are allowing over 240 passing yards per game this season, and the last four SEC quarterbacks they've faced have thrown for at least 242 yards against them. Multiple quarterbacks threw for over 300 yards against them and one threw for over 400 in that span. Ewers has only topped this number four times this season, but in such a favorable matchup, the Longhorns would really have to abandon the pass for him to miss this total.
Jeremiyah Love Over 1.5 Rushing + Receiving Touchdowns
Love has scored at least one touchdown in every game this season. The fact that his floor is that high makes it shocking that PrizePicks is offering his Over as a Demon for this game.
The Trojans' defense has solid numbers this season, but the competition hasn't been very good. While they're allowing just 21.2 points per game, the last five teams they've faced are all averaging 25.0 or fewer points per game this season. Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish are averaging 39.0 per game.
Though the Trojans are allowing just 130.1 rushing yards per game, the Fighting Irish are the better team in this matchup, and thus, they will be the ones enforcing their will. Offensively, that means a healthy dose of Love. To get this Over at inflated odds is a must-add to every PrizePicks play.
