College Football Week 9 PrizePicks Player Predictions (2024)
Jalen Milroe Less Than 246.5 Passing Yards
Like the Crimson Tide, Jalen Milroe has had an up-and-down season. While he threw for 374 yards against the Georgia Bulldogs, he's only topped 300 yards in one other game, and he's thrown for fewer than 246.5 yards in five of his seven contests.
The Tigers haven't played very well over the last couple of weeks. Earlier this year, they gave up 41 points to the Texas A&M Aggies. In that game, Aggies quarterback Conner Weigman threw for 276 yards. Overall, the Tigers' pass defense has been good. They're allowing just 179.3 passing yards per game this season. Milroe may end up using his legs to take away some of his passing yards. In a matchup that isn't great, against a defense that has been good against aerial attacks, that makes it hard to trust him.
Henry Parrish Jr. More Than 74.5 Rushing Yards
The last time Henry Parrish Jr. took the field, he only ran for 42 yards in the Ole Miss Rebels' overtime loss to the LSU Tigers. Before that game, he'd rattled off at least 80 yards in four of his five games, including three contests against Power 4 schools.
This week, Parrish takes on a Sooners team that has lost three of their last four games and has failed to score double-digit points in back-to-back weeks. The Rebels are going to jump all over this team coming out of their bye week. That means a huge game for Jaxson Dart. It also means a huge one for Parrish. The Sooners are allowing 138.9 yards per game on the ground. With how Parrish is playing and how this game should go, Parrish should get close to the average the Sooners are allowing by himself.
Kyron Drones More Than 0.5 Interceptions
Kyron Drones hasn't thrown more than one interception in a game this season, but he has been picked off by opposing defenses in five of his seven games this year. Last week, he attempted fewer than 20 passes for just the second time this season and still managed to throw an interception.
The reason this isn't giving poorer odds than usual on PrizePicks is because of how bad the Yellow Jackets' defense has been at intercepting opposing quarterbacks this season. They have just two interceptions all season, which gives them an average of 0.3 per game. That ranks tied for 123rd in the nation. Drones will need to drop back a lot in this game since the Georgia Tech run defense has been very good this year. This season, he's yet to have a game with more than 21 pass attempts where he didn't throw an interception.
