Corey Seager (+280)
The Rangers (61-59) mounted a five-run comeback last night against the Diamondbacks (57-62), ultimately winning the series opener 7-6 in 10 innings. This 2023 World Series rematch resumes tonight, and we have a pitching matchup between Anthony DeSclafani and Jack Leiter. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. ET from Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.
One piece of evidence that Arizona has punted on the 2025 campaign is that they’re sending Anthony DeSclafani to the bump tonight. The journeyman pitcher has pitched in 10 games this season, going 1-2 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. He's prone to conceding the longball, as his HR/9 rate is 1.80. That's the second-highest rate among tonight's starting pitchers (Cortes, 4.26).
I'll ride with Corey Seager to take the right-hander deep. Seager has launched 17 home runs this season, which is 63rd in the Majors. He's homering once every 19.1 at-bats, which is 34th in the MLB. Seager has two home runs in his last eight games. He's 5-for-9 (.556) against DeSclafani in his career with a big fly. Considering DeSclafani's mediocre form and the fact that Arizona's bullpen is 26th in ERA (4.84), I expect Seager to go nuclear tonight.
Junior Caminero (+220)
The Rays (58-62) snapped a three-game slide last night, taking down the Athletics (53-68) in a 7-4 affair. Tonight's game pits Shane Baz against Jacob Lopez on the bump. First pitch is slated for 10:05 p.m. ET from Sutter Health Field in Sacramento, CA.
Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero has sneakily been hitting for big-time power this season. He’s been crushing the ball recently, racking up five home runs in his last five games. Caminero, who finished second in the Home Run Derby last month, now has 33 dingers (sixth) on the season.
I'll play the Tampa third baseman to homer in back-to-back games tonight. He'll be facing Jacob Lopez, who has looked good this season with a 3.59 ERA. However, the southpaw hasn't fared well against Caminero in the past, as Caminero is 1-for-2 (.500) against him with a home run. I'll gladly take a flier on the Tampa clean-up man to touch 'em all at the hitter-friendly Sutter Health Field.
Shea Langeliers (+230)
Keeping it in the same game, I'm also locking in Shea Langeliers to go yard tonight. Over the last 15 days, he's tied for first in home runs (seven) with the aforementioned Caminero and Chicago's Colson Montgomery. Langeliers has missed some time this year, but has still amassed 24 home runs (18th) on the campaign. He's homering once every 14.0 at-bats, which would be eighth in the MLB if he qualified.
Langeliers will square off against Shane Baz, who owns a 9.50 ERA in his last four starts (18.0 IP). The right-hander comes into the new week with a 4.92 ERA (54th) and a 1.34 WHIP (49th). Langeliers has owned him in the past, going 3-for-6 (.500) against him with a home run and a double. Give me Langeliers to go yard against Shane Baz and his 1.48 HR/9 rate.
