Byron Buxton (+310)
Patrick Corbin will make his season debut tonight for the Toronto Blue Jays. Last season, the left-hander allowed a .168 ISO and wOBA of .337 to 497 righties. He also gave up more than 28% of fly balls and 52.2% of hard contact to righties last season.
Tonight, Corbin is set to face Byron Buxton of the Twins, a right-hander who has hit a .320 ISO and wOBA of .403 against lefties since last season. It hasn’t been a strong start for Buxton this season, but his track record proves it’ll change soon. A matchup against Corbin is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Corbin allowed a 9.1% barrel rate to righties last season. Look for Buxton to have a couple of opportunities to knock one out of the park.
Junior Caminero (+370)
Since last season, Junior Caminero has hit a .275 ISO and a wOBA of .365 against right-handed pitchers.
Caminero is expected to face righty Luis Gil of the New York Yankees tonight. Despite being right-handed, Gil allowed a .181 ISO and a wOBA of .339 to 119 righties last season. Those righties hit nearly 29% of fly balls, and he struck out righties just 18.5% of the time.
Gil will make his season debut tonight. The Yankees went with a four-man rotation thanks to some off days and threw Gil to the minors. They felt more comfortable without him. That said, Caminero already has a .194 ISO against righties to begin this season and has hit 28% of fly balls with a 12% barrel rate. Take a chance on Caminero.
Carter Jensen (+370)
Carter Jensen has smashed a .435 ISO and wOBA of .366 against righties this season. Since last season, he’s hit a .338 ISO and wOBA of .413 against righties. The left-handed slugger has been the most consistent bat in the Royals’ lineup against righties - even better than Maikel Garcia, Bobby Witt Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez.
Jensen has hit nearly 32% of line drives, 68.1% of hard contact and a team-best 21.3% barrel rate against righties.
Jensen will tee off against Davis Martin of the White Sox, who has allowed a .217 ISO and wOBA of .361 against lefties this season. Last season, he allowed a .192 ISO and wOBA of .339 to 306 lefties, with a 9.3% barrel rate and only 7.9% swinging strikes against lefties.
Jensen has a lot of potential to go deep tonight.
