(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Milwaukee Brewers (+163) at Los Angeles Dodgers (-201) | O/U 7.5 (-116/-105)
As the Brewers head to Los Angeles, they hope the offense comes with them. It has been non-existent in the last two games, scoring just two runs on four hits. At the start of the National League Division Series (NLDS), William Contreras and Christian Yelich were carrying this offense. Now, Contreras and Yelich both have just two hits in their last 18 at-bats.
This has put extra pressure on the pitchers. In Game 2, ace Freddy Peralta could not come through and now has a 4.70 ERA this postseason.
In contrast, the Dodgers’ starting pitching has been untouchable in the first two games. Between Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, they've allowed one earned run in 16 innings. Tyler Glasnow gets the start for Game 3, who has a start and a relief appearance in the NLDS and has yet to allow a run in 7.2 innings.
The pitching has been the anchor, as some of the top hitters have been slow out of the gate. While they are getting contributions from Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernandez and recently Enrique Hernandez and Freddie Freeman, the offense has been relatively quiet.
The Dodgers have all the momentum heading into this game, and the Brewers’ offensive problems started at the end of the series against the Cubs. Until they prove they can put up runs, it's difficult to back the Brew Crew.
Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (+104)
Toronto Blue Jays (+114) at Seattle Mariners (-138) | O/U 7.5 (-116/-105)
The Blue Jays needed to inject some life into their team, as they faced a 0-2 deficit on the road. It didn't look good early on, with a two-run home run by Julio Rodriguez in the first, but Toronto would take over after that. They scored 13 runs, including five home runs, to get their first win of the series.
The Blue Jays will try to even the series with Max Scherzer on the mound, who is making his 2025 postseason debut after being left off the roster for the American League Division Series (ALDS). This was the worst season of Mad Max's storied career, as it was the first time he finished with an ERA above 5.00 and posted his lowest WAR (0.2).
The Mariners will try to put Game 3 behind them and force an elimination game. Excluding the final regular-season series with the Dodgers after they clinched the American League West division, Seattle’s last consecutive home losses were when they were swept by the Orioles in early June. That shows how well this team plays at home.
Seattle's pitching at T-Mobile Park is its anchor, as they were third in ERA during the regular season (3.28). Luis Castillo played a large part in that with a 2.61 ERA at home, and the M's have won his last four starts.
This is a good spot for the Mariners to bounce back and move one win away from their first World Series appearance.
Pick: Mariners Moneyline (-138)
