Tuesday's Best MLB Picks & Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

San Diego Padres (-102) at San Francisco (-120) | O/U 7.5 (-112/-109)

The Giants have been one of the worst teams recently, especially since the Rafael Devers trade. One of the few consistent pieces has been Robbie Ray. The former Cy Young award winner is looking vintage by allowing two or fewer runs in 18-of-24 starts this season.

There are some concerning numbers, such as his 44.5% hard hit rate, but this San Diego lineup does not have the same power as in recent years, as their 37.4% hard rate is 29th, and 7.0% barrel rate is 28th.

The Padres are sending up not-so-nasty Nestor. The former gem of the Yankees’ pitching staff has lost his luster early in the 2025 season with a 7.11 ERA in three starts. It could have been due to elbow trouble that has kept him on the IL since April, but he makes his return and his debut for San Diego. However, he's struggled against this lineup with a .280 and a .740 slugging.

Pick: Giants Moneyline (-120)

Pittsburgh Pirates (+108) at Milwaukee Brewers  (-132) | O/U 6.5 (-124/+102)

This is the marquee pitching matchup of the day, with the Pirates and Brewers sending up their best to the mound.

Paul Skenes is the clear favorite to win the Cy Young as his 1.94 ERA leads the league and is fourth in WHIP (0.93). Skenes has been nearly untouchable in recent appearances as over his last seven starts, he's pitched at least five scoreless innings in five. The Brewers' lineup has been hot, coming in with ten straight wins, but Skenes has managed them well, as they are hitting only .116 against him.

Freddy Peralta hasn't been as great as Skenes, but he's been reliable for the Brewers, coming in with a 3.59 ERA over his last eight starts. One of those includes allowing three earned against the Pirates back in June.

The Pirates’ lineup has been improving recently and since July 29, they are batting .251 (13th), with a .333 OBP. With Skenes on the mound, the Pirates could pull off a big upset and snap the Brewers’ 10-game winning streak.

Pick: Pirates Moneyline (+108)
