Watching a good baseball game is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. But watching a baseball game when you have some skin in the game is even better. Of course, picking one and the right market can be a daunting task, but I am here to help with my top MLB picks.
We have some great matchups between some excellent teams on deck for us today. After a careful review of the day's games and various trends involving several teams, the following are my best MLB bets for Sunday, June 7th.

Sunday’s Best MLB Picks & Predictions
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Los Angeles Angels vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers knocked in nine runs during the first inning alone yesterday. That is unlikely to happen again today with Jose Soriano (6-4, 2.72 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) on the mound for the Angels. With the Dodgers hitting .268 over the last week and averaging five runs per game, I wouldn't count on seeing another big offensive day from them.
Through 11 starts, Dodgers starter Emmet Sheehan is 3-2 with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. He has given up two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts, but hasn't given up more than four in a game all season. If he does get pulled early, the Dodgers’ bullpen has been solid this season with a 3.30 ERA.
Soriano will keep the Dodgers’ run production low, and with the Angels hitting .233 over the last week, I don't see them taking advantage of Sheehan or the Dodgers’ bullpen. I'd take the Dodgers to win, but there is no value in the Moneyline. The run line is tempting, but the under is the best bet.
Pick: Under 8.5 Runs (-115)
San Francisco Giants vs. Chicago Cubs
The numbers for the Giants over the last week are a bit inflated, thanks to an 18-run performance on Friday, but San Francisco has been killing the ball of late. Over the last week, they scored 57 runs and hit .335 (seven games), including an MLB-best 16 home runs. With the Cubs sending Jameson Taillon to the mound, San Francisco's sluggers could be in for a great day.
Taillon leads baseball in home runs surrendered with 20 (2.7 per nine innings). He has given up at least one homer in 10 of his 12 starts, with multiple in six. Giants starter Trevor McDonald has been easier to hit on the road (.284 opponents’ batting average) compared to at home (.177). But he has a better ERA on the road (3.71) than at home (5.29).
McDonald should be fine against a Cubs lineup that has scored three runs or fewer in five of its last seven games, giving San Francisco the edge.
Pick: Giants Moneyline (+102)
