It is Saturday, August 1st, and that can only mean one thing - it's a great day for betting on MLB player props (much like every other day of the week). With 15 games on the docket today, there are plenty of great markets to choose from.

Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props
Brandon Lowe 2+ Total Bases (+115 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott has respectable season stats (3.85 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, .243 opponents’ batting average). But he often doesn't have his best stuff at home (2-3 in 10 starts with a 5.05 ERA and a .261 opponents’ batting average).
Brandon Lowe leads the Majors with 13 hits over the last week in six games with multiple hits in four. Of his 13 hits, six have gone for extra bases (four doubles, two home runs).
In five career at-bats versus Abbott, Lowe is 2-for-5 with two doubles.
Nick Gonzales 2+ Total Bases (+105 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Nick Gonzales may be an even better bet to record two total bases today. He has 12 hits over the last week with multiple hits in five out of seven games. Only one of those hits went for extra bases, but that's OK since there’s a good chance he'll get at least two hits. What may make him a better bet is his batting average (.318), which tells us he’s more likely to make contact and get on base.
While Gonzales has been great over the last week, he has hit safely in his last 15 games, with multiple hits in 10 games and extra-base hits in six.
Cristopher Sanchez Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+116 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
This is a slightly risky player prop since Cristopher Sanchez has gone for over this mark in just two of his last five starts. But Sanchez has done so in nine out of 22 starts, including a stretch of eight in a row from April 30th to June 8th.
With Baltimore hitting just .206 over the last week, if Sanchez brings his 'A' game (or maybe even his ‘B’ game), he'll go deep into this game.
Spencer Torkelson 2+ Total Bases (+100 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Athletics starting pitcher Jack Perkins has not been great at home this season (6.81 ERA in 15 appearances, including five starts). But Sutter Health Park is a hitter-friendly ballpark. Yesterday's 13-run, 14-hit explosion by the Tigers is proof of that.
Spencer Torkelson has stepped up in the last week, hitting .444 with eight hits in 18 at-bats across five games, with one extra-base hit. He went 3-for-4 yesterday, his third multi-hit game in his last four. His season batting average is not encouraging, but he's got a hot hand in a hitter-friendly park.
