MLB Prop Bet Cheat Sheet

Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook unless otherwise stated)

Zac Thornton Under 3.5 Strikeouts (+128)

Zac Thornton is not a big strikeout pitcher. In 12 starts, he has a total of just 51 punchouts, which puts him at just over four per game. Of those 51 strikeouts, only 10 have come in road games across four starts. He recorded two strikeouts in two of them and three in the other two.

The Yankees have averaged just over seven strikeouts per game over the last week, so they are striking out a lot. Thornton could get four in this game if he can last six innings, but at +128, the under has value.

Gerrit Cole Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-115)

Gerrit Cole is absolutely capable of recording double-digit strikeouts on any given night. But that hasn't been the norm for him this season.

Cole is averaging 5.9 strikeouts per game this season (113 in 19 starts) and has gone under this total in 10 starts. The Mets have averaged eight strikeouts per game over the last week with only one opposing starting pitcher going over this total. Don't count on Cole being the second.

Jackson Chourio 2+ Hits (+175)/Jackson Chourio 3+ Total Bases (+190)

Jackson Chourio has been the definition of "on fire" lately, going 11-for-16 in his last three games with five extra-base hits, including two home runs.

Chourio has gone over both totals in just six of his last 15 games and went hitless against Brady Singer the last time he faced him on September 6th in Cincinnati. But teams are hitting .300 against Singer when he's on the road. As hot as Chourio has been, both markets offer significant value.

Cesar Perdomo Under 4.5 Hits Allowed (+100 at BetMGM)

There is an element of risk to this one because the Padres have been doing a decent job at the plate lately (.268 over the last week). In their last seven games, three starters have held the Padres to under 4.5 hits. They got nine off Giants starter Anthony Molina last night in just three innings. But Cesar Perdomo has been solid in his two MLB starts, allowing just three hits in both.

Perdomo’s first start versus Pittsburgh lasted just four innings, but his second against the Met went six innings. He's making the most of his time with the club. At +100, this one is worth taking a flier on.
