Happy Fourth of July! We have a bevy of games, most of which take place in the morning or afternoon, so let’s jump right into it. Here are three of my favorite player predictions via PrizePicks for Thursday, July 4.

MLB PrizePicks Record This Season: 43-39-2

JP Sears Less Than 4.5 Strikeouts

JP Sears has never been profiled as a guy who strikes many batters out. He takes on the Angels, who might not string together many runs against lefties, but they should be able to put the ball in play. Since the start of May, the Angels are 20th in K% (20.5%) against lefties. Sears ranks in the bottom 16th percentile in K% and 24th in CSW% among all starting pitchers. He has stayed under this line in seven of his last 10 starts.

Logan Webb More Than 5.5 Strikeouts

This Braves team is nothing like last year. Injuries have played a massive part, and the results show. Over the past 30 days, they have been fifth in K% (25%) and 26th in wRC+ (79) when facing right-handed pitching. Atlanta faces the Giants’ ace today, who has found six or more strikeouts in eight of his past 11 starts. The Braves roster has had its fair share of struggles against Logan Webb in the past, too. They have combined for a .265 wOBA and 24% K% across 104 plate appearances against Webb.

Chris Bassitt Less Than 5.5 Strikeouts

Taking on the Astros is a tough task for any starter trying to rack up strikeouts. They are 26th in K% (18.4%) and 10th in wRC+ (114) against righties over the past 30 days. Houston has seen the ball very well from Chris Bassitt in the past, too. The roster owns a 14.9% K% and .371 xwOBA in 114 plate appearances against Bassitt.
