After the 162-game slog, there’s nothing better than playoff baseball. It is a significantly different game, however, and that changes the way to best wager on props. As soon as anything goes awry, bullpens are warming, so be careful on the over spots for starting pitchers.

It doesn’t matter who the Twins throw at Yordan Alvarez; he will do damage. Across the first three games of this ALDS matchup, Alvarez has put up fantasy scores of 34, 16 and 26. If it weren’t for a favorable scorekeeper ruling, he would’ve had another double in yesterday’s game, too. He hit a grand slam against Joe Ryan earlier this year, and it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see him hit another dinger, given his form right now.
Four innings, Lance Lynn. That’s all we’re asking for out of you. In a do-or-die spot, Dave Roberts will definitely have a quick hook with Lynn if he begins to crumble. But I don’t think he does. It’s a limited sample size, however, Arizona’s roster owns a combined .211 xwOBA and 35.3% K% in 51 combined plate appearances against Lynn. The playoffs are a different beast, obviously, but Lynn has gone over this mark in all 53 of his starts over the last two seasons.
There’s a high likelihood that David Peralta is pinch-hit in this contest. He only saw two plate appearances in both Game 1 and 2, as he was pinch hit for once a lefty reliever came in. Arizona has three left-handed relievers, and there’s a strong probability that they will go to them early, given who they have on the mound tonight.
Their rookie right-hander, Brandon Pfaadt, probably won’t be in the game longer than three to four innings, expediting the bullpen usage in this contest. Peralta has faced Pfaadt on five occasions this year and did not strike out once. Peralta ranked in the 81st percentile in K% on the season and should be able to put the ball in play in his two plate appearances tonight.
