MLB Same Game Parlays & Picks: Friday (6/13)

We’ve got just 10 games on the MLB slate, including an afternoon showdown between the Giants and Phillies. I don’t have anything in that game, but I’ve added two Same-Game Parlays for other matchups in the later portion of the slate.

Milwaukee Brewers @ Kansas City Royals

Bryse Wilson will start for the Brewers tonight. He’s a righty who has struggled against lefties throughout his career. Wilson has already allowed a .355 ISO and wOBA of .381 this season, with only 23.8% of grounders induced.

Therefore, we’ll attack with the lefties in the Kansas City lineup.

Since last year, Vinnie Pasquantino has smashed a .211 ISO and wOBA of .337 against righties. More importantly, during that time, Pasquantino has struck out only 11.5% of the time against righties.

Meanwhile, Michael Massey has hit a .179 ISO and has only struck out 20.9% of the time. Massey doesn’t walk much against righties and is a bit more aggressive. That’s essential. If he can put the ball in play, he’s got a very good chance at delivering at least one hit.

Finally, MJ Melendez has hit a .186 ISO and wOBA of .321 against righties. He’s another lefty who has hit over 33% of fly balls against righties with 54.4% hard contact. Pasquantino and Melendez lead the Royals in hard-hit rate against righties and should smash against Wilson.

Parlay Odds: +611

New York Mets @ St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals will start Kyle Gibson tonight. Gibson is a veteran righty who has allowed a .246 ISO and a wOBA of .326 to his first 80 lefties this season. Even last year, Gibson finished with a .194 ISO and a wOBA of .356 allowed to lefties. He also struck out just 17.9% of lefties.

The same is happening this year. Gibson has only struck out 18.8% of lefties and continues to allow a high rate of fly balls.

Meanwhile, lefties like Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor are in great spots. Since last season, Nimmo has hit a .216 ISO and wOBA of .372 against righties. Lindor has hit a .178 ISO and wOBA of .323, which is also above average. Both lefties have struck out below 22% of the time against righties since last year.

Lastly, we’ll roll with Jeff McNeil to get a base hit. While his ISO and wOBA numbers are down, McNeil has only struck out 10.9% of the time against righties since last season. With Gibson not being a high strikeout pitcher, McNeil should at least put the ball in play most at-bats in this game. If he can do that, there’s a good chance one will be a hit.
