Washington Nationals vs. New York Yankees

The Yankees are essentially in freefall and have been struggling in all facets of the game. Their offense has cratered, and their pitching hasn’t been far behind. In Luis Severino‘s last eight starts, he has allowed three or more runs in seven of them. Home runs have been the biggest issue, and while the Nationals are not an elite power-hitting team, there’s enough power upside for them to take advantage of Sevy’s struggles.

Mackenzie Gore has been a bit inconsistent, mixing elite games with massive blowups. However, with his skillset and the Yankees’ offensive woes lately, this appears to be a great spot for him to have another one of his elite games.

Dominic Smith is not dominating offensively by any means, but he has been closer to league-average in the second half. He makes a ton of contact, and that could be a huge advantage with Severino’s current struggles.

Parlay Odds: +400

Miami Marlins vs. San Diego Padres

Despite having an overall disappointing season, Sandy Alcantara has pitched better lately, allowing one or fewer runs in three of his last five starts. The Padres’ offense has been much better across the last 30 days, but it is still not performing near expectations. Alcantara should be able to keep up the success he has had in the second half, helping put his team in a position to win.

Seth Lugo has actually been excellent as a starter, giving up two or fewer runs in most of his outings. The Marlins’ offense has not been elite either, but one thing they have shown is an increase in power lately compared to their early season numbers. They should be able to string together extra-base hits and put up a big run total.

Josh Bell has been on fire since moving to Miami, with a 175 wRC+ and seven homers in 19 games. There are still swings and misses, but with Lugo on the mound, that is not a major concern.

Parlay Odds: +400

San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Michael Lorenzen has been great this season. Two starts ago, he threw a No-Hitter. His start immediately afterward didn’t go nearly as well, but his solid performances all season have been mixed with massive blow-ups. Homers have been an issue at times, and while the Giants’ offense has not been a power-hitting machine, they have several left-handed bats who show a ton of pop against righties.

Alex Cobb is typically as steady as they come among starters, but his last few outings have been well below average. For splitter pitchers like him, the long ball can be an issue, but as long as he keeps the ball in the yard, he should have no issues putting his team in a position to win.

Among those big lefthanded bats is Michael Conforto. His 105 wRC+ does not jump off the page, but he is up at 116 versus righties, which makes him an attractive enough play at these odds.

Parlay Odds: +450
