Baltimore Orioles vs. Houston Astros

Let's lead off our same-game parlays with the Astros hosting the Orioles in an American League matchup. Houston holds a few edges to get the victory tonight. Use the Moneyline to anchor our parlay with some player props added in.

Peter Lambert gets the start for Houston. The right-hander has a solid 3.14 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 15 starts this season. He ended the first half on a high note, with a 2.43 ERA over his last seven outings. Lambert should limit Baltimore’s offense while striking out at least five batters.

The Astros righty has recorded five or more strikeouts in 10 of his 15 starts this season. He's also punched out at least five hitters in five of his last six outings entering tonight's matchup. The Orioles, meanwhile, have a 23.5% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season, which is the fourth-highest mark in the Majors.

On the other side, Dean Kremer brings in a 4.09 ERA over four starts for Baltimore. The righty recently returned to the rotation before the All-Star break with a mixed bag of results. He allowed four runs against the Cubs in his latest start. Kremer could run into trouble here, as Houston boasts a .352 wOBA versus righties since the start of July.

Yordan Alvarez and Isaac Paredes are two Houston hitters who can get to Kremer today. Alvarez is crushing at home, with a .361 batting average and 1.171 OPS. He's also hitting .331 with a 1.120 OPS against righties this season. Plus, the Astros slugger was on fire to end the first half, batting .386 with a 1.258 OPS over his last 11 games.

As for Paredes, he was also swinging a hot bat before the break. Houston's third baseman boasts a .304 batting average and .801 OPS over his last 20 games. He racked up 24 hits, 13 RBI and eight runs scored during that 20-game stretch. Paredes has a solid .782 OPS against righties this season as well.

Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Angels

Let's now turn our attention to the Angels hosting the Tigers in another American League matchup. Detroit ended the first half strong, with a 9-3 record over 12 games before the All-Star break. In that stretch, the Tigers averaged 5.3 runs per game with four or more runs scored in eight of the 12 contests.

Detroit's offense can get to Angels starter Reid Detmers tonight. The left-hander has been up and down all year with a 4.39 ERA across 19 starts. He's especially struggled lately, with five runs allowed in three of his last four outings. The Tigers, meanwhile, have a solid .318 wOBA against left-handed pitching, which ranks 11th in the Majors.

Kevin McGonigle can have success tonight. The All-Star shortstop is the American League Rookie of the Year betting favorite thanks to his .283 batting average and .812 OPS. He's hitting .282 with a .741 OPS against left-handed pitching, and he boasts a .298 average and .835 OPS on the road. McGonigle went into the break with a .292 average and .810 OPS over his last 17 games.

Though Detmers may allow some runs, there may also be strikeouts. Detroit has a lofty 27.7% strikeout rate versus lefties since the start of July. That's the seventh-highest mark in the league. As for Detmers, he's recorded at least six strikeouts in nine of his last 13 starts. He's also averaging 7.2 strikeouts per home outing this season.

On the other side, Troy Melton can also rack up punchouts. The Tigers starter brings in a stellar 1.82 ERA and 0.81 WHIP over eight starts so far. He has five or more strikeouts in six straight outings, including nine and seven in his last two starts. Melton faces an Angels lineup that has a 24.8% strikeout rate versus righties this season, which is the second-highest in the Majors.
