The MLB season is in full swing as we get deeper into July. The All-Star break has come and gone, and the MLB trade deadline is right around the corner. Let’s turn our attention to Friday’s slate with 15 games on tap and all 30 teams in action. There are plenty of options for MLB picks and props. It’s time to dive into the matchups and dish out a pair of MLB same game parlays (SGPs) that feature player props and juicy plus-money odds.

Atlanta Braves vs. Baltimore Orioles
- Leg 1: Under 9.5 Total Runs (-163)

Let's lead off our same-game parlays with the Orioles hosting the Braves in an Interleague matchup. This projects to be a lower-scoring game based on the pitching trends and offensive splits. Grab the full-game under to anchor this SGP, with some player props sprinkled in.
Trevor Rogers gets the start for Baltimore. The left-hander's 4.28 ERA this season isn't too appealing, but he's been pitching much better lately. He owns a 0.88 ERA over his last five starts and just a 1.69 ERA over the past two months. Rogers faces an Atlanta offense hitting .223 against left-handers in July.
Meanwhile, Grant Holmes can also hold the Orioles in check. The Braves right-hander has a shaky 3.70 ERA, but he's also been notably better recently. Holmes owns a 1.90 ERA over his last five outings, and a solid 3.18 ERA over his past 11 appearances. He'll take on a Baltimore offense that has a league-worst .168 batting average versus right-handers since the All-Star break.
While we're backing the under and both pitchers, let's also count on Ozzie Albies to show up at the dish. The switch-hitting Braves second baseman is batting .288 with a .796 OPS against left-handed pitching this year. Conversely, Rogers is allowing a .275 batting average and .763 OPS to right-handed hitters. Albies is also .320 (8-for-25) against Rogers in their career head-to-head matchups.

New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies
- Leg 1: First Five Innings Under 4.5 Runs (-175)

- Leg 4: Paul Goldschmidt Over 0.5 Hits (-203)
Let's now turn our attention to the Phillies hosting the Yankees in another Interleague showdown on Friday night. We have a pitching matchup of Cam Schlittler versus Jesus Luzardo in this game. Both starters should limit scoring early to make this a low-scoring contest.
Schlittler is having a Cy Young-caliber season with a 2.20 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. He's also been especially dominant on the road, with a 1.18 ERA across 12 away starts. The Yankees right-hander boasts an elite 29.7% strikeout rate with just a 5.1% walk rate. Plus, his 145 strikeouts rank fourth among qualified starters.
New York's young ace will face a Phillies lineup that can be very inconsistent. The offense has also struggled to hit right-handed pitching lately. Since the All-Star break, Philadelphia has just a .216 batting average against righties (22nd in MLB) with a 29.5% strikeout rate during this stretch (third-highest in MLB). Meanwhile, Schlittler has struck out seven or more batters in five of his last seven starts and in 12 out of 21 outings overall this year.
On the other side, Luzardo can hold the Yankees in check. The Phillies left-hander owns a 2.90 FIP on the season, and he comes in pitching at a high level recently. He boasts a 1.49 ERA over his last seven starts, averaging nine strikeouts per start in this stretch. Luzardo also brings in a 2.01 ERA over his past 12 outings. Today, he'll take on a Yankees lineup that's batting just .204 with a 32.7% strikeout rate versus left-handers in July.
Though we're banking on a strong Luzardo performance, Paul Goldschmidt can still have a decent day at the plate. The veteran is crushing left-handed pitching to the tune of a .337 batting average, .644 slugging rate and 1.064 OPS this season. He's also hitting .303 with a .904 OPS on the road. If we combine those splits, Goldschmidt is batting .350 with a 1.026 OPS on the road versus southpaws. Plus, Luzardo has been notably worse against right-handed batters this year.
