Of the 10 Major League Baseball games on Monday, two are continuations of series played over the weekend, as the Dodgers and Rockies finish a four-game set, and the Red Sox host the Tigers in their annual Patriots Day game. My MLB same game parlays (SGPs) involve one of those games, and I look to continue the momentum of cashing a +402 parlay from last week, while hitting on two of the three legs from my other SGP last Monday.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Kansas City Royals
- Leg 1: Under 9.0 Runs (-115)
- Leg 2: Gunnar Henderson Under 1.5 Total Bases (-128)
- Leg 3: Seth Lugo Under 2.5 Earned Runs (-142)
Though I oftentimes involve a Moneyline wager as part of my same-game parlays, I could not confidently back either side given how much each has sputtered of late. Baltimore entered Sunday having lost four out of five games, with a .184 team batting average and a .583 OPS over that span. Meanwhile, Kansas City had lost six straight while averaging 3.7 runs per game and a .583 team OPS. Because neither offense is in top form, the under is my most confident leg of this parlay.
Gunnar Henderson has been one of the lone bright spots offensively for Baltimore, with a team-leading seven home runs and 45 total bases. But over the last seven days, he is slashing just .129/.152/.290 and is just 1-for-8 in his career against Seth Lugo, who has been tough on left-handed hitters this season.
Royals righty Lugo ranks sixth in the league with a minuscule 1.48 ERA. He has allowed one or fewer earned runs in three out of his four starts, a year after his 2.73 ERA in April was his second-best of any month last season. That included a six-inning quality start against the Orioles, where he allowed one earned run over six innings while tying a season-high with 10 ground balls induced in an 8-2 win on April 4th.
Parlay Odds: +468
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies
- Leg 1: Over 11.5 Runs (-108)
- Leg 2: Shohei Ohtani 1+ Hits (-423)
- Leg 3: Will Smith 1+ RBI (-103)
Dodgers starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski is coming off a masterful eight-inning two-hit performance against the Mets. But while he did his job in not allowing an earned run, many will still sell high on him, considering he induced just four whiffs and generated a 21.5% CSW% in the outing.
We know what the Dodgers’ offense can do, but I’m backing the over because I expect regression in Wrobleski’s first career start at Coors Field, though he has pitched to a 2.89 ERA in three appearances there before this outing.
Shohei Ohtani’s 51-game on-base streak has been well documented. Ohtani’s streak ranks third in franchise history, as only Shawn Green (53 in 2000) and Duke Snider (58 in 1954) have had longer streaks as Dodgers. I’m hoping Ohtani extends this streak with at least one hit.
One cannot go wrong with backing Will Smith to drive in a run. With teammates like Max Muncy, Andy Pages and Kyle Tucker all batting .250 or better against Jose Quintana, there should once again be plenty of traffic on the basepaths for Smith. I’m backing him to drive in a run as the third leg of this parlay, as he has at least one RBI in two of the last three games and three of the previous six.
Parlay Odds: +369
