Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds
- Leg 1: Brandon Lowe Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120)
- Leg 2: Bryan Reynolds Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)
- Leg 3: Ryan O’Hearn Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)
The Cincinnati Reds will give Rhett Lowder another opportunity on the mound. Ultimately, Lowder has struggled this season. The right-hander has allowed lefties to hit a .204 ISO and a wOBA of .417 over the last month. Those lefties have struck out below 20% of the time and have hit almost 40% of fly balls with just 34.9% of ground balls.
Meanwhile, the Pirates have a bunch of lefty sluggers in the lineup. Brandon Lowe has hit a .164 ISO and a wOBA of .350 against his last 61 righties. He also has a 29.3% line-drive rate against lefties, while adding a .359 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against righties over the last 30 days.
Bryan Reynolds is a switch-hitter, but he’ll bat on the left side against Lowder. Against his last 65 righties, Reynolds has a .241 ISO and a wOBA of .357. Ryan O’Hearn has also smashed a .245 ISO and a wOBA of .367 as a left-handed batter against righties over the last month.

The Athletics are set to pitch Mason Barnett, and we’ll absolutely want to take advantage. Barnett has allowed a .400 ISO and a wOBA of .471 to his last 46 batters overall. He’s struggled against lefties and righties and has earned just 8.7% of strikeouts during that time.
From the right side, Ceddanne Rafaela has added a .176 ISO and a wOBA of .309 against his last 69 righties. He’s impatient at the plate and hasn’t struck out against righties over the last month. That means he’ll try and put the ball in play more, which checks out for us.
Additionally, Willson Contreras has hit a .237 ISO and a wOBA of .443 against righties over the last month. He’s yet another righty Red Sox bat who has hit righties well recently.
Barnett has given up a .467 ISO and a wOBA of .460 to his last 18 righties.
Andruw Monasterio, another righty, has a .219 ISO and a wOBA of .383 against his last 39 righties. He’s kept his strikeout rate low and has hit just 21.4% of ground balls. Look for some solid contact from Monasterio against Barnett tonight.
