Saturday’s Best MLB Sleeper Picks & Predictions
Let’s dive into our top MLB Sleeper picks and predictions on Saturday’s slate of games.
Brady Singer More Than 5.5 Ks (1.98x)
Brady Singer has already struck out 25.8% of batters this season. The Kansas City righty has also held teams to a .151 ISO and wOBA of .289 with 51.6% of grounders and just 19.6% of fly balls allowed.
He’s been tremendous.
Today, he’ll take on a Rays lineup that has struck out 24.8% of the time against righties. In the projected Rays lineup, six batters have a high rate of strikeouts. With six targets in the lineup, Singer should have a real chance at adding at least six strikeouts in tonight’s game.
After all, the Rays have hit a .116 ISO and wOBA of .295. Singer should pitch a quality start and get through at least six innings.
Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.81x)
Rafael Devers has smacked righties this season. He’s hit a .363 ISO and woBA of .446 with only 20.9% of strikeouts against righties this season.
Meanwhile, he’ll take on Colin Rea of the Brewers. Rea is a righty who has allowed a .209 ISO and wOBA of .366 to his first 121 lefties. In addition, Rea has only struck out 17.4% of lefties and has allowed 31.5% of line drives.
A nice line drive into the gap would be nice from Devers. He’s literally hit a hard contact rate of 70.5% and has a barrel percentage of 15.4% against righties this season.
Lars Nootbaar Over .5 Walks (1.66x)
I haven’t played many walk props for batters. But I’m eying this one.
Lars Nootbaar has walked more than he’s struck out against righties this season. The left-hander has struck out 16.5% of the time but has walked 17.5% of the time against righties.
He’ll go up against Jameson Taillon, a righty who has allowed 12.1% of walks to lefties. Taillon has only struck out 18.2% of lefties and has also allowed a .259 ISO and wOBA of .377.
Even last season, Taillon had a high walk rate to lefties, giving up 9.8% of walks. Nootbaar is really good at working walks and making righties work. Let’s take a chance with his walk prop tonight.
Aaron Nola Over 5.5 Ks (1.52x)
We haven’t seen vintage Aaron Nola this year. He’s only struck out 23.3% of batters. However, he’s had way more success against righties this season.
Against righties, as a righty pitcher, Nola has added 28.3% of strikeouts. He’s also held righties to a .094 ISO and wOBA of .278 with 55.6% of ground balls and only 13.6% of fly balls.
Lucky for Nola, he’ll likely face a Rockies lineup that will have six righties in it. Those six righties have combined to strike out 29.2% of the time. All in all, the Rockies’ projected lineup has struck out 26.6% of the time. Therefore, I’ll gladly take Nola to add at least six strikeouts tonight.
