A solid 2-1 day took place yesterday, with the Mitch Keller player prediction being the one to fall short. We have a full 15-game slate today, which presents us with many options. Here are three of my favorite player predictions via Sleeper for Tuesday, July 23.

MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 139-84 (62.3%)
Watching Chris Sale pitch is such a joy. It’s even more fun when you’re pulling for him to rack up the strikeouts. He has gone over this line in 10 of his last 13 starts and has recorded at least seven in 14 of his 18 starts on the season. Sale draws the Cincinnati Reds in this matchup. They are fifth in K% (26.4%) against lefties over the past month. Earlier this month we saw another power lefty in Tarik Skubal find 13 strikeouts against them. It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Sale do the same here. The lanky lefty is the National League Cy Young favorite for a reason after all.
Save yourself the headache and don’t bother watching this one. Just check the box score an hour and a half after the first pitch. Lance Lynn is all over the place, but he typically finds a way to get over this line. He has done so in 14 out of 19 starts this year. That includes one outing against the Pirates earlier this year, who he faces today. Pittsburgh isn’t a lineup to fear whatsoever. They are sixth in K% (24.1%) and 27th in wRC+ (85) against righties this season.
This is Jordan Montgomery’s first start in almost a month. He forwent a rehab assignment and instead threw a 56-pitch, three-inning simulated game this past Thursday. Because his arm is not built up, Montgomery will undoubtedly have a pitch count, likely around 70 to 75 pitches. He has hardly struck out anyone this year as it is, ranking in the seventh percentile in K% amongst starting pitchers on the year. He hasn’t struck out more than four batters in three of his 13 starts. Tonight, he faces the Kansas City Royals, who have the lowest K% (14.8%) against lefties since the start of June.
