Sunday’s Best MLB Sleeper Player Picks & Predictions
Let’s dive into our top MLB Sleeper player picks and predictions for Sunday’s slate of games.
Bryce Harper Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (1.67x)
The Phillies look incredible on paper today.
They’re facing Joey Estes of the Athletics, who has allowed a .212 ISO and wOBA of .358 to his last 108 batters. Ultimately, he’s struggled against both sides of the plate, so I’m rolling with Harper to add hits, runs, and RBIs.
First, Harper has hit a .286 ISO and wOBA of .423 against his last 44 righties.
Secondly, the Phillies have collectively hit a .198 ISO and wOBA of .375 against righties over the last 30 days. Only Bryson Stott and Johan Rojas have struggled to hit for power. However, Harper has a legitimate chance to hit a home run. He’s also got Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner in front of him and Alec Bohm behind him.
Harper is in a great position to contribute in many ways for the Phillies today.
Jose Quintana Over 4.5 Strikeouts (1.50x)
Jose Quintana has struck out 23.9% of righties over the last 30 days. He’s ultimately not known for high strikeouts. But he’s been dialed in against righties over the previous month.
Quintana has held righties to a .052 ISO and wOBA of .198 and, again, has added nearly 24% of strikeouts.
He’ll take on a Rockies lineup that has struck out 29.2% of the time against righties. That projected lineup has eight righties, including six batters with strikeout rates of above 30% over the last 30 days.
With so many targets and Quintana improving his strikeout rate over time, let’s back him to earn five strikeouts. Don’t be surprised if Quintana even goes seven innings today.
Christian Yelich Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.84x)
In the last 30 days, Christian Yelich has smashed a .246 ISO and wOBA of .441 against righties. He’s struck out only 15.8% of the time in the last month against them and has hit 52.8% of hard contact with a team-high 13.2% barrel percentage.
He’ll be in line to face Jake Irvin of the Nationals. Irvin has allowed a .346 ISO and wOBA of .385 to his last 61 lefties. He’s also added only 18% of strikeouts and has allowed 41.9% of fly balls to lefties.
Yelich has a good chance of hitting hard contact against Irvin. He’s the only left-handed batter in the Milwaukee lineup that has been consistent against righties lately. Back him to add at least two total bases.
Michael Conforto Over 4.5 Fantasy Points (1.64x)
Michael Conforto has crushed righties over the last 30 days. Against his last 64 righties, he’s smacked a .273 ISO and woBA of .358 with 21.9% of strikeouts.
The left-hander also hit 40.5% of fly balls along with 57.1% of hard contact and a 16.7% barrel percentage against righties at that time.
Today, he’ll face Chris Paddack of the Twins, who has allowed lefties to hit a .350 ISO and wOBA of .483 over the last 30 days. Paddack has also struck out just 17% of lefties this season.
Take a chance on Conforto to earn at least five fantasy points.
