NBA Player Props & Bets: Spurs vs. Thunder (Tuesday)

The Eastern Conference Champion has been crowned. But we won’t know the Western Conference Champion for at least another two games. The Spurs and Thunder will play Game 5 tonight with the series tied at two. Here are three NBA player props for tonight’s game.

Stephon Castle Under 17.5 Points (-102)

Stephon Castle hasn’t scored more than 14 points in back-to-back games heading into tonight’s game. He’s scored 17 points or fewer in three of his first four games against the Thunder. Castle has shot 45% or worse in three of those four games and has attempted no more than 11 shots in two consecutive games.

Meanwhile, the Thunder ranked first in the NBA in points allowed to point guards. They also ranked first in free throws attempted and free throws made by point guards. Castle has had a hard time scoring in this series, and that should continue in Game 5.

Devin Vassell Over 4.5 Rebounds (-130)

Devin Vassell has contributed at least five rebounds in four of his last five games. He’s had at least 14 rebound chances in two of the first four games of this series. The rebound chances aren’t by luck, either.

The Thunder ranked dead last in defensive rebounds and 28th in total rebounds allowed to shooting guards this season. Vassell has taken advantage. He just had a series-high six defensive rebounds in Game 4. With this series being played tightly defensively, I’m comfortable riding Vassell to grab at least five rebounds tonight.

Isaiah Hartenstein Over 2.5 Assists (+116)

Isaiah Hartenstein has earned at least three assists in three straight games. Despite this, we can bet on Hartenstein to go over 2.5 assists at +116. That’s very good, especially since Hartenstein has averaged nearly four potential assists per game over the last 10 games. In his last game at home, Hartenstein had seven potential assists, which was the most in that last 10-game span.

The Spurs ranked 29th in assists allowed to centers this season. That’s one of the reasons Hartenstein has seen an uptick in assists recently.
