Friday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 38-24
We’re going to see plenty of scoring in this one between the Wizards and Pacers. These teams are the top two in terms of pace and we have a sky-high total of 258 in the contest because of that, along with the lack of defense on both sides. The Pacers are 28th in defensive net rating, and the Wizards are last. These teams met on the first game of the season and Indiana won in a blowout. Despite playing just 25 minutes in that game, Kyle Kuzma finished with 25 points against Indiana. He’s the most trustworthy scorer for Washington and leads the team in points in the paint, the area where Indiana struggles the most to contain. They just allowed Giannis to score a career-high 64 points! I’m not saying Kuzma is Giannis, but he can get to the rim and finish and should be able to find another 25 against them at the bare minimum.
The Hawks and Raptors play once again, after meeting just two days ago. In that game Wednesday, Pascal Siakam put up 33 points. That sort of production has been a regular occurrence for power forwards against the Hawks, who have allowed the fourth most points per game to the position. Atlanta is 27th in defensive net rating and points allowed the in paint, and is third in pace. Another back-and-forth affair looks to be in store this Friday with the total sitting at 243.5, and Spicy P should play a big part in it.
They say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, so I’m going right back to Jojo and his lofty point prop. Despite playing just 31 minutes, Embiid put up 41 points against Detroit on Wednesday and should be able to exceed this mark once again. The Pistons will once again be without their up-and-coming starting center, Jalen Duren, and Marvin Bagley has also been ruled out. That leaves their frontcourt fairly depleted and it’s not like Isaiah Stewart or James Wisemen were able to slow him down the other day.
