With Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner sidelined, it’s the Jalen Suggs show in Orlando. With that said, this is an awful matchup for him. The Thunder have the best defensive Net Rating, permitting the fewest points and fifth-fewest assists to opposing point guards. There aren’t many other playmakers to worry about, so Oklahoma City should be able to key in on Suggs and keep a lid on him.
The Pistons welcome Utah to town and should have no trouble scoring. The Jazz are dead last in defensive Net Rating, while Detroit will likely be without Jaden Ivey, who is listed as doubtful at the time of this writing. Without their second-best scoring option, look for Tobias Harris’ veteran presence to pick up the slack. He has eclipsed this line in 15 of his last 21 games, averaging 24 combined points + rebounds + assists over this span.
This one has a little blowout risk, but Michael Porter Jr. will likely play a decent part if it becomes one. Denver faces the Trail Blazers, who are 26th in defensive Net Rating, transition defense and spot-up shooting defense. Porter Jr. scores 44% of his points in transition or as a spot-up shooter. He has hit the more than on this line in 17 out of 24 games, averaging 28 combined points + rebounds + assists per game.
