Tuesday's Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 6-5
Derrick White is averaging 3.6 made three-pointers per game this season, so it's pretty shocking to see this number set at just 3.5 despite him going against the worst three-point shooting defense in the league tonight. The Hawks rank last in both three-pointers allowed per game and opponent three-pointer percentage. Teams are making 39.9% of their shots from beyond the arc this year.
White has attempted the third-most three-pointers on the team this season, trailing just Jayson Tatum and Payton Pritchard. He's made at least four three-pointers in four of his seven games in November, and he's made at least three shots from deep in seven of his last eight games. There's nothing that suggests he will struggle tonight.
In his last game, Steph Curry shot 7-of-13 from beyond the arc. It marked the first time he made more than four three-pointers in a game all season. While he's made exactly four in four of his seven games, he's struggled to hit the more than on that number, despite making 40.7% of his shots from deep.
While Sunday's performance could get him going, Curry faces a tough matchup tonight, as the Mavericks are allowing opponents to make just 34.2% of their three-pointers this season. Additionally, the Mavericks rank in the top 10 in three-pointers allowed per game, giving up just 12.5 per contest. If Curry has a huge game tonight, his slump is likely over, but the right play for now is the less than.
Mikal Bridges is averaging 15.3 points per game. He's scored at least 15 points in seven of his nine games. He was 0-of-6 from deep in his last game - his worst shooting performance of the season. Yet, he still scored eight points. Had he made his average of 2.2 three-pointers in that contest, he would have finished with 14 points.
Tonight, Bridges takes on a 76ers defense that ranks third-worst in the league when it comes to opponent three-point percentage. Bridges is averaging 7.0 attempts per game from deep, so it's safe to assume he's going to put up a lot of shots from beyond the arc. This is the perfect matchup to put Sunday's performance behind him.
