Monday’s Best NBA Summer League Picks

Utah Jazz vs. San Antonio Spurs NBA Summer League Picks
Dylan Harper was drafted second overall by the San Antonio Spurs out of Rutgers University. Meanwhile, Ace Bailey was drafted fifth overall by the Utah Jazz, again, out of Rutgers University. Bailey is currently dealing with a hip injury and likely won’t play tonight.
It would’ve been fun to watch Harper and Bailey compete against one another tonight.
The Spurs are 2-0 in Las Vegas. Harper scored 16 points in his NBA Summer League debut and also contributed six rebounds in only 20 minutes of game action. David Jones-Garcia has been the most consistent scorer on the Spurs. In addition, rookie forward Carter Bryant has been terrific defensively for the Spurs.
San Antonio faces a Utah Jazz team dealing with numerous injuries. Bailey, Walter Clayton Jr., RJ Luis and John Tonje are all out due to injuries. Like the Spurs, the Jazz have only a few high-level contributors on offense right now.
Therefore, consider the under today.
Pick: Under 178.5 Points (-120)
Phoenix Suns vs. Sacramento Kings NBA Summer League Picks
The Phoenix Suns are another team that has been hit with the early injury bug. They most recently lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 98-80, and played without Ryan Dunn, Khaman Maluach and Rasheer Fleming. It sounds like Dunn and Maluach will be available for tonight’s game. Fleming is more unlikely.
This would give the Suns more depth. After all, the starting lineup against the Hawks performed well offensively. Phoenix didn’t get much from the bench.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings got 30 points from Devin Carter in a 109-92 win over the Bulls last time out. Carter was 10-for-13 from the field and also added eight rebounds and three assists. Carter added just eight points in the previous game against the Magic in 24 minutes. But when Carter struggled, the Kings got 11+ points from four other players in a gutsy 84-81 win over the Magic.
Since both teams should have a solid amount of depth tonight, the over looks appealing.
Pick: Over 182.5 Points (-115)
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers NBA Summer League Picks
After a 106-91 win over the Bucks, the Los Angeles Clippers are 2-0 in Vegas. Last night, the Clippers got 21+ points from three different players, including Patrick Baldwin Jr., Cam Christie and Jordan Miller. The offense shot nearly 53% from the field and hit 43.8% from downtown. On the other hand, the Clippers held the Bucks to 42.5% shooting from the field and held Milwaukee to just 25.6% from three-point range.
Conversely, the Los Angeles Lakers got their first win in Las Vegas - 94-81 over the Pelicans. Dalton Knecht was given rest due to a calf injury. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to go tonight. The consensus is that he’ll be back in the starting lineup. The Lakers need Knecht on offense. Against the Pelicans, the Lakers shot just 40.5% from the field. The 13-point win looks a lot better than how they played.
Therefore, I’m on the Clippers -1.5.
Pick: Clippers -1.5 (-110)
