Monday Night Football PrizePicks Predictions: Bengals vs. Cowboys
This is one of the easiest matchups Chase Brown will face all season. The Cowboys are allowing the second-most rushing yards per game, with opponents running for 147.6 on average. They've been particularly bad at home, allowing 182.0 per contest.
Brown has had a decent season, but he's taken a back seat to Joe Burrow, who has been throwing to keep the Bengals in games. Tonight, that should change. Brown has run for at least 70 yards in three of his last four games. He's averaging 4.5 yards per carry, while the Cowboys are allowing nearly 5.0 per attempt. In a great matchup against a team the Bengals should be able to get in front of, look for Brown to have one of his best games of the year.
Jalen Tolbert has recorded just two catches in each of his last three games. He hasn't caught more than three passes in any of his last six contests. That said, he has caught more than 2.5 passes in eight games this season.
While many will look at his recent games and assume the less than is a lock, the Cowboys have also won two of those three contests. This week, I expect them to fall behind early and for Cooper Rush to throw on nearly every down. The Bengals are allowing 22.2 completions per game. Their pass defense is giving up the sixth-most yards per contest. Tolbert could end up having a huge game tonight, but even if he's just average, he'll get at least three catches in a very favorable matchup.
Despite attempting 446 passes this season, Joe Burrow has thrown just five interceptions. He did throw one last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he now has one in three of his last five games, but he should attempt fewer passes than usual in a game in which his team is favored.
The Cowboys have been sneakily good at intercepting passes this season. They're averaging 0.8 per game. Over their last three contests, they're picking off 1.3 passes per game. But Burrow is playing at an elite level right now and he hasn't made many mistakes this year. With his team finally playing with the lead and relying on the rushing attack more than the pass, it would be shocking to see him throw his sixth pick of the season.
