NFL Week 1 Same Game Parlays: Saints vs. Ravens

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

New Orleans Saints @ Baltimore Ravens

This may be the most difficult contest of the slate to read. The offense for the Saints and Raven were in pristine working order last week. Normally this is a great spot to ride the hot hand, and take advantage of a shallow line. Having said that, we are going to take the contrarian angle, and bank on regression. The Ravens and Colts matched up against horrific defenses in their opening games. That isn't the case this week. New Orleans needed overtime to reach 30 points in Week 1.

Lamar Jackson rushed for 40 yards on seven carries, while scoring one touchdown with his legs. We took sone off the top on the 40 yards (-114) to provide a bit more safety. Jackson's longest rush was 19 yards in his first game, and if he can get anywhere from 15-20 yards on one rush, then we are flying over the 25+ threshold.

Devaughn Vele may not have been the most dominating receiver on New Orleans against Detroit. However, 69 yards on seven receptions is more than serviceable. Tyler Shough sought out Vele continuously on Sunday, and that's probably going to be a consistent scenario this season.

NFL Same Game Parlay Betting Strategy

NFL same game parlays let bettors combine several predictions from one matchup into a single ticket. While adding legs can produce a more appealing payout, it also reduces the margin for error. Successful construction starts with a strong opinion about the game and selections that tell a consistent story.

Create a Game Script First

Begin by considering how the matchup is most likely to develop. A team playing with a lead may run more frequently, while a trailing offense could produce additional pass attempts and receiving opportunities. Use that projected game script to guide every leg instead of choosing unrelated bets based solely on their individual odds.

Target Outcomes That Work Together

Look for selections that benefit from the same result. A quarterback passing-yardage over may pair naturally with a top receiver's yardage over, while a favorite to win can complement a rushing prop for its lead running back. Be cautious with legs that require opposing scenarios, such as betting on a comfortable victory while also expecting the winning team to throw aggressively throughout the second half.

Make Your Best Bet the Foundation

Start with the market in which you have the strongest conviction, then add only legs that reinforce that position. Do not include a selection simply because it significantly increases the payout. Each additional leg lowers the probability of winning, so a focused two- or three-leg parlay is often more defensible than a larger ticket built around weaker opinions.
