Best Week 2 NFL Thursday Night Football Player Props: Falcons vs. Packers
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Matthew Golden 55+ Receiving Yards (-112)
All of the receiving options for the Packers regressed from a strong performance against the Vikings. Except Matthew Golden. Despite the tough weather conditions in New Jersey, Golden recorded 58 receiving yards in Week 2. Atlanta has allowed over 500 receiving yards through two games.
Golden should be able to pick up big yards against a Falcons team that's been highly gracious to opposing receivers. The Falcons have conceded at least 55 yards to four out of six receivers with two or more targets. Golden is averaging 76.5 yards per game through two contests.
Bijan Robinson 25+ Rushing Yards Every Half (-145)
We apologize for the juice on this selection. However, sometimes you just have to accept that high-probability plays will be taxed by sportsbooks - it's essentially what you are paying for. You're ultimately being charged for success rates. In this instance, it just makes sense to take a little extra juice to cash in on a prop that stands out as potentially vulnerable.
Bijan Robinson is averaging 4.2 yards per carry on 18.5 attempts. This contest is expected to be much closer than the Falcons’ two previous contests this season, with the Packers favored by less than a touchdown. If Michael Penix Jr. can keep them in the game into the fourth quarter, Robinson should easily add 25 rushing yards in each half.
If you want to get wild, you can take Robinson for 70+ rushing + receiving yards in each half (+380). Unfortunately, there is no option for 50+ rushing + receiving yards in each half. We are going to ride with the running back for Atlanta to rush for at least 25 yards in each half.
Green Bay 3+ Field Goals (+230)
Alright, now it's time to get ambitious. The standard line for two or more field goals for Green Bay is -145. That is definitely a piece you can consider adding to a parlay. For these purposes, we are going to bump it up to three or more field goals, and bank on Atlanta keeping Green Bay out of the end zone. It's not so much a longshot bet as the return suggests, and Atlanta has given up 54 points over two games.
The Packers are averaging 2.5 field goals per game. Trey Smack has made all five of his attempts when called upon, and opened the season with three field goals against the Vikings. Tough weather conditions may have limited attempts on Sunday against the Jets, or else the Packers kicker may have had two consecutive games with three or more field goals. If the Packers are in position for a long field goal in this contest, they definitely will not elect to punt.
Jordan Love 25+ Passing Yards Each Quarter (+110)
We close out our selections with another game special. For this prop, our intention is to attack a passing yards total for each quarter. As previously mentioned, the Falcons have surrendered over 500 yards through the air to the opposition in two contests. Jordan Love has thrown for 532 yards in two road games, and now gets to play in front of a Green Bay crowd. Love is coming off of an underwhelming performance in New York. A situation where we may certainly have an edge due to recency bias.
Love threw for almost 390 yards in Week 1 against Minnesota. While we don't expect that level of impressive production, 25+ yards per quarter seems quite attainable. The weather in the contest against the Jets made passing quite difficult. Green Bay only completed 16 passes on Sunday, compared to 21 in their first game against Minnesota. Love is in a fantastic spot to pass for 25+ yards every 15 minutes.
