We salvaged last week’s NFL Thursday Night Football TD scorer picks with a +190 cash on Oronde Gadsden’s anytime touchdown odds.
This week’s matchup is between the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins, which should have extra juice with the expected return of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. How will the former MVP being under center impact our three TD scorer predictions?

NFL Thursday Night Football TD Scorer Picks
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Lamar Jackson Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+165)
Fresh off a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for the last three games, I am jumping right in and backing Lamar Jackson to score a touchdown in his first game back.
Baltimore has scored 26+points in each of the three full games Jackson has played this season. Meanwhile, Miami has allowed four rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks, the most in the NFL.
Jackson has been a fantasy football stud when healthy, averaging 27.5 fantasy points per game. And the Dolphins allowed 81 rushing yards to the most mobile quarterback it has faced so far in Justin Fields, making these anytime touchdowns odds appealing as long as Jackson doesn’t have any lingering effects from the hamstring injury.
Also, check out this crazy stat from NFL researcher John Todd regarding Lamar Jackson in his career against the Dolphins:
Players with the most games in NFL history with 5+ pass TD, 0 INT and 3 or fewer incompletions:
Lamar Jackson *vs the Dolphins* – 2
Ben Roethlisberger – 2

Mark Andrews Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+190)
Tight end Mark Andrews is likely to be one of the happiest Ravens pass-catchers to get his quarterback healthy. Andrews scored two touchdowns in a Monday night game against the Lions the last time Jackson was healthy. In the three games since with Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley under center, Andrews has not topped 34 receiving yards in a game, while finishing with three or fewer receptions twice.
Andrews faces a Dolphins defense that has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points and the fifth-most receiving yards to tight ends this season.
Miami entered last week with the worst rush defense in the league before holding Bijan Robinson and the Falcons to 45 yards rushing and 2.6 yards per carry. But even though I expect bigger things from Derrick Henry and the Ravens’ running game, Andrews could benefit from the team’s running success if play-action passes open up the middle of the field more.
De’Von Achane First Team Touchdown Scorer (+180)
Dolphins running back De’Von Achane’s -155 anytime touchdown odds are too steep for my liking. But this is an appealing price for him to score the team’s first touchdown.
The Ravens are coming off a game where they allowed a season-low 16 points, but used a unique defense with six defensive backs on the field for 17 plays to do so (the 17 plays were more than they had used that defense in the previous five games combined).
When they have had five defensive backs on the field in their two wins, the Ravens employed that for 97% of plays, while allowing 5.7 yards per attempt, a 2:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 43 quarterback rating. In the five losses, they used that alignment for 81% of plays while allowing 7.5 yards per attempt, 12:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio and an 82 quarterback rating.
I am banking on Miami to capitalize on this “lighter” formation by running Achane more often than usual.
The Dolphins are coming off a season-high for points (34), rushing yards (141) and rushing first downs (11). They also tied a season-high with 13 plays gaining at least 10 yards.
As long as Miami doesn’t fall into a big hole early, I expect it to lean on its running game, given its newfound success, with Achane scoring the team’s first touchdown.
