Best NFL Week 9 PrizePicks Player Predictions
The resurgence of Daniel Jones has been admirable. The man has thrown for at least 272 passing yards in two straight games. He’s also added at least 262 passing yards in three of his last five games.
Jones and the Colts are facing the Pittsburgh Steelers, who actually have allowed the most passing yards per game this season. The Steelers also rank 31st in pass completions and 31st in yards after catch. Ultimately, Pittsburgh’s secondary has not played like a typical Pittsburgh secondary this year.
Look for Daniel Jones to capitalize. He’s averaged more than 30 passing attempts per game this season. He’s also completed 71.3% of his passes, while adding no more than three poor passes in three consecutive games. Jones has also earned a 48+ pass in two straight games entering this one. Jones isn’t about to slow down. His comeback season should continue today.
Kyle Monangai is set to get the first start of his NFL career. The former Rutgers product has shown glimpses of excellence with the Bears. He quickly became the No. 2 running back on the roster and has been given 45% of snaps in back-to-back games heading into this one.
With that said, he’s going to get the start today now that De’Andre Swift is injured and unable to play. Monangai has added at least a 15-yard rush in two straight games when Swift was available. Imagine how many runs he can break out as the lead back, taking on the Bengals, who rank dead last in rushing yards per game?
Monangai has averaged 3.5 yards per carry this season. Look for that number to increase, but understand that his volume will also be fairly high in what should be a high-scoring game.
Noah Fant has caught at least three passes in three straight games. He’s also had just one game without at least three catches. Having Joe Flacco orchestrating the offense has certainly helped Fant stay involved this season.
Fant has caught every single target thrown to him over the last three weeks. Meanwhile, he’s facing a Bears defense that ranks 31st in receptions allowed to tight ends this season. In addition, Fant caught four passes against the Bears last year in December on five targets, despite playing only 56% of the snaps. Fant is currently third on the Bengals in receiving yards with 192. He’s only behind Chase and Higgins and is basically the No. 3 receiver on the team. In fact, he’s only two receptions shy of Tee Higgins, despite playing one fewer game this season.
