Premier League Matchday 17 Odds, Picks & Prediction (2025)

The Premier League resumes this weekend, as clubs gear up to play their third domestic game in roughly 10 days. The league is hitting its stride, but Arsenal (10-3-1, 33 points) is still sitting comfortably atop the table with a five-point cushion over second-place Manchester City (9-1-4, 28 points).

I've got you covered from a betting angle this weekend. Below, I'll dive into three of the matches and provide you with my favorite bet in each contest.

Premier League Matchday 15 Preview & Best Bets (2025)

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Manchester City (-390) vs. Sunderland (+950), DRAW (+550) | O/U 3.5 (+130/-165)

There's still plenty of time left in the season for Pep Guardiola and his men to close the gap between Arsenal and themselves. Manchester City will have a good chance to do so on Saturday when they host sixth-place Sunderland (6-5-3). Kick-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. ET from Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Manchester City should take care of business on Saturday morning, but there are a few reasons as to why I don't think we should expect a blowout. For starters, let's give credit to the recently promoted Sunderland. They've been playing great soccer this season, picking up at least one point in 11 of their 14 matches. Dating back to August 26th, the Black Cats have only lost one out of their 12 matches by two or more goals.

As for Manchester City, they're just 2-0-2 in their last four games across all competitions, and neither of the wins came by two or more goals. Speaking of "all competitions," the hosts have a massive Champions League game against Real Madrid this upcoming Wednesday. This could be a bit of a lookahead spot as they gear up to host the Spanish giant. Let's take a flier on Sunderland and their third-ranked defense (14 goals allowed) to keep this game close.

Bet: Sunderland +1.5 (+105)

Fulham (+155) vs. Crystal Palace (+180), DRAW (+235) | O/U 2.5 (+100/-130)

Crystal Palace (6-5-3) closed last season on a high note by winning the FA Cup. The Eagles have carried the success into the new campaign, entering this weekend's action sitting in fifth place in the Premier League. They'll hit the road to take on Fulham (5-2-7), who sit in 15th place following a 5-4 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday. This match is scheduled for Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET from Craven Cottage in London.

Crystal Palace has looked sharp this season, picking up a result in 11 of their 14 matches. They've actually performed better on the road, going 4-1-2 in seven road outings. Crystal Palace has won its last two away affairs, taking care of Wolverhampton (2-0) and Burnley (1-0), more recently. I'm willing to back the visitors on Sunday, and I'll do so by taking them on the "Draw No Bet" line, meaning our wager will be graded as a push if the game ends in a tie.

For as well as Crystal Palace has played this season, this is equally as much of a fade of hosting Fulham. The Cottagers are 15th in goal differential at -3 (19:22). And while they've managed 19 goals in 14 matches, their expected goals (xG) of 14.2 is the seventh-worst mark in the league. Crystal Palace brings in the second-ranked defense (11 goals against), while also ranking fourth in both goal differential (+7) and expected goals per 90 minutes (xGD/90 minutes) with a mark of +0.44. I'm confident the Eagles can grind out a low-scoring win or, at worst, escape with a 1-1 draw.

Bet: Tie No Bet: Crystal Palace (+100)

Wolverhampton Wanderers (+330) vs. Manchester United (-130), DRAW (+300) | O/U 2.5 (-145/+115)

Wolverhampton (0-2-12) is on the fast track to relegation. The club is still searching for its first win, 15 matchdays into the season. They'll host eighth-place Manchester United (6-4-4), who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-1 home draw against lowly West Ham during the midweek slate. The matchday finale kicks off on Monday at 3:00 p.m. ET from Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton.

This feels like an absolute bargain to fade last-place Wolverhampton at a price of just -130. I mean, they've been horrendous this year, losing 12 of their 14 games. That's an 85.7% losing rate. Wolverhampton is also in the midst of an abysmal 0-0-5 stretch, where they've been blanked in all five Premier League matches. Rob Edwards' crew has been out-scored 10-0 during the five-match sample size.

Up next, Wolverhampton will be tasked with trying to keep pace against a Manchester United side ranked sixth in scoring (22 goals) and fourth in xG (22.9). The Red Devils are in the midst of a mediocre 4-2-2 stretch, but I still think they'll muster up enough offensive firepower to take care of an extremely inferior opponent. I'll predict a 2-1 victory in favor of the visitors.

Bet: Manchester United Moneyline (-130)
