Our MLB picks are over .500 and in the black for the season after turning in profits in five of the previous seven weeks. Today’s best bets are balanced between a full-game Moneyline, a first five innings Moneyline and a play on a total.
One of the three wagers offers plus-money odds, with a chance that Washington moves to an underdog role early, as we look to maximize profits.

Saturday’s Best MLB Picks & Predictions
Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook | This Season: 20-19 (+0.82 units)
New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
Gerrit Cole is coming off a start where he allowed season-highs in earned runs (five) and hits (nine). Those were his most earned runs and were tied for his most hits allowed in 15 career starts against the Tigers, dating back to 2015.
Cole enters the "House of Horrors" that is Fenway Park. He has pitched to a 5.52 ERA and 1.409 WHIP in eight career starts at Boston. His 2-3 record there makes it one of two American League ballparks where he has a losing record (Tropicana Field is the other).
The under has cashed in 62.2% of Boston’s home games, and is 24-14-2 in New York’s 40 games as a road favorite. But I am bucking those trends in this early afternoon game, where the ball should be carrying.
Pick: Over 8.5 Runs (-114)
Washington Nationals at Baltimore Orioles
Nationals southpaw Foster Griffin has been tough on left-handed batters this season, allowing a .165/.239/.320 slash line. While that means getting Pete Alonso out will remain difficult, that bodes well for his ability to navigate several of Baltimore’s other big bats, like Gunnar Henderson and Samuel Basallo.
Entering this series, Washington had lost three straight and six out of eight. In that span, its bullpen posted an 8.15 ERA and converted only two out of seven save opportunities.
The Nationals are tied for the third-most blown lead losses in the Majors (23). They also just allowed the Phillies to become the first team in MLB history to hit a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning of three consecutive games. That is why I’m taking relievers out of the equation and backing Washington to lead after five innings.
Pick: Nationals First Five Innings Moneyline (-110)
Atlanta Braves at San Francisco Giants
Atlanta entered this series amid a season-high four-game losing streak, with 10 losses in its last 13. That alone will have plenty of bettors supporting San Francisco with ace Logan Webb on the mound. However, the righty has struggled mightily against current Braves hitters.
Webb has allowed a .345/.358/.468 slash line in 119 combined at-bats to current Braves hitters. It has been death by a thousand cuts, as just 11 of the 41 hits allowed have gone for extra bases.
This is still a Giants team ranked 13th in the National League in runs per game (4.1), tied for 10th in home runs (86), 10th in starting pitching ERA (4.46) and 12th in bullpen ERA (4.39). Thus, I am looking at this game through the lens of the entire season, knowing this is a great price for Atlanta to get back on track.
Pick: Braves Moneyline (+113)
