Top MLB Player Prop Bets & Picks: Thursday (4/10)

Top 3 MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Tuesday (9/10)

Much like last week when there were just five games on Thursday’s Major League Baseball slate, it is once again a popular getaway day for teams, as only six games are to be played today. Bettors should be sure to lock their bets in early, as the first five games are played in the afternoon window, while the NL East showdown between the Phillies and Braves is the only game played at night.

Bobby Witt Jr. to record a run (+100

Kansas City’s offense has not yet gotten going, as it entered Wednesday scoring four or fewer runs in every game but one since the calendar turned to April.

But the Royals should be in for a bigger offensive day in the series finale against the Twins when facing Bailey Ober. Ober has allowed a .292/.348/.547 slugging percentage to current Royals hitters. Bobby Witt Jr. is responsible for nine of those hits in 19 at-bats, and the fact that three of those hits (including one home run) have gone for extra bases, that is why his OPS is an eye-popping 1.316 against Ober.

Witt will have great protection behind him in the lineup, as Salvador Perez has also slashed .368/.381/.789 against Ober. Witt entered Wednesday with a team-leading eight runs scored and had plated nearly 20% of the team’s runs, so there is great value for him to score a run again today.

Spencer Schwellenbach Under 2.5 earned runs (-175

A recent ESPN article with bold predictions after just two weeks of the season completed suggested that Spence Schwellenbach would end up with a 4.0 WAR or higher and receive some NL Cy Young Award votes.

Schwellenbach has done little to dispel those notions to this point, with 14 scoreless innings and three hits allowed while sporting a 14:1 K:BB ratio through his first two starts. His latest start came against the punch-less Marlins, but his debut was against a loaded Padres lineup of veterans that is similar to the Phillies lineup.

Schwellenbach has allowed a .250/.273/.295 slash line to current Phillies hitters. And of the 16 hits allowed, just three have gone for extra bases, and he has kept the home-run happy Phillies in the yard with no long balls allowed. That should minimize the damage for big innings, and I expect Schwellenbach’s torrid start will continue tonight.
