Big3 Basketball Best Bets
Here are our best bets for this week of Big3 basketball action.
Killer 3’s vs. Ghost Ballers
The Killer 3’s might be the best team in the league right now. Last week, they opened up a 25-14 lead over Power, then held on for the 51-46 win. What could have been a let down game after an 18-point win over the Triplets, instead proved to be a defining moment in the season for a team that now leads the league in points for and points against. This week, they get the Ghost Ballers. Last week, the Ghost Ballers stayed true to who they are when they were blown out by Trilogy. This is a team that gets their wins against good teams but struggles mightily against the top teams in the league. The Killer 3’s are the hottes team in the league, and even with a 4.5-point spread, we’re backing the favorites.
Pick: Killer 3’s -4.5 (-115)

Power vs. Triplets
Power have lost two in a row, mostly because they have struggled to score early in games. Last week, they trailed 25-14 at the break, while the week before they trailed 25-19. Last week, they showed life in the second half, scoring 32 points, but they were unable to overcome the hole they dug themselves. This week, they will take on the Triplets, one of three 5-2 teams in the league. After getting destroyed two weeks ago, the Triplets bounced back last week for a 50-34 win over the Ball Hogs. It was their second victory in a row by double-digits. This week, the Triplets are favored by 4.5, and while they are the better team in this matchup, that is simply too large of a spread. The Power have been inconsistent, but so have the Triplets. Take the underdogs in a game where either team can win.
Pick: Power +4.5 (-115)

Tri-State vs. Enemies
Tri-State added a 51-40 win over Bivouac in Week 7. The defense held Bivouac to just 17 points in the second half to help earn a victory. They'll take on Enemies in Week 8. Tri-State is led by Jason Richardson and Justin Dentmon, who have added over 90 points throughout the Big3 season. The top four scorers on Tri-State have shot at least 39.8% from the field, which is good. On the other hand, the Enemies just lost to 3's Company last weekend. The offense just wasn't consistent in that game. Jordan Crawford and Elijah Stewart have each added at least 100 points in the Big3. Those are the two big shooters on the team. Crawford has hit 56.3% from downtown and 50% from the field. It will be a battle between Crawford and Stewart vs. Richardson and Dentmon. This game should go down to the wire. Let's take the Over.
Pick: Over 94.5 (-120)

Trilogy vs. Ball Hogs
Trilogy had one of the most convincing wins in Week 7, earning a 50-34 win over Ghost Ballers. Earl Clark might have 117 points, but Ryan Carter has been the more efficient scorer for Trilogy. He's shot 52.7% from the field and 44% from deep on 27 tries. Amir Johnson has also shot 69% from the field for Trilogy. They’re usually efficient when Clark, Carter, and Johnson are together on the floor. Johnson does the rebounding and scores around the rim to balance out the offense. On the other hand, the Ball Hogs lost to the Triplets, 50-34, in their last game. The offense is typically good. Jodie Meeks has shot 49% from the floor and has added 124 points. Meanwhile, the other four players, including Leandro Barbosa, have shot at least 46.4% from the field. They played a weak first half against the Triplets in Week 7, but the offense is way more capable than what they displayed in that first half. Take the Ball Hogs with the points.
Pick: Ball Hogs +4.5 (-115)
